Villa Roma hotel was a great place to stay, especially while traveling with our dog. The staff was very accommodating and the hotel is only about a 10 minute walk from the plaza. We stayed in a standard room, which seemed small at first, but turned out to be the perfect size given the balcony which added a lot of space. We noticed the suites, although bigger rooms do not have balconies. The room was comfortable, if not luxurious. The pool and jacuzzi were not operating due to the pandemic, but the pool water is probably too cold anyway. The only improvement we would suggest is to provide more options for the breakfast and make it a little bigger.
When we arrived, they sprayed down our bags (with a liquid that doesn't stain), checked our temperature, and went through a list of biosecurity protocols. We felt VERY SAFE there during a pandemic. The room was the perfect mix of modern comfort with colonial town charm. There is a large bathtub, a perfectly solid bed, and great shelves and closet area to hang things. The breakfast was very good; eggs made to order, fresh warm bread, coffee. We paid a drop extra for a side order of cheese. The service is world class, from the initial phone call to the end, when we left a drop later than the normal check-out without additional charges. They received a package of fresh herbs that we had purchased, they maintained excellent communication, and they answered all questions we had about the surrounding areas. We will definitely return and recommend this hotel to friends. It's 6 blocks from the main plaza. Close enough to walk to, but not too close that every time you leave it's a hassle. Ideal spot!…
I live in Bogota and I had family visiting from Canada. We took a short trip to Villa de Leyva and stayed at this hotel on a recommendation from a friend. The hotel was situated within walking distance to the town square but not so close that you had lots of noise. It has a small pool and a quaint courtyard. There is parking for your vehicle. The rooms were spacious and clean. The complimentary breakfast was made to order and delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Thei is a very comfortable, small, boutique hotel within easy walking distance of the main square in Villa de Leyva. There is a small plunge pool and jacuzzi in a pretty courtyard. The staff are helpful and it is a good place to stay for looking round the town.
On entering the hotel, everything looked very nice. But attention to detail is sadly lacking! For example, loose sink taps, a shower which never worked properly even after being looked at, hammock unusable on the balcony, broken parasol on the pool terrace. On top of that a very meagre breakfast. Various options, the one we chose comprised of scrambled egg and two miniscule bread rolls and jam. For the price it was very disappointing.
I recently stayed at this hotel this month. The hotel was clean and quiet for sure. The employees need some training on how to smile and act as if you enjoy your job somewhat. The employees seemed as if they were afraid to speak. Secondly, the breakfast is far from being GREAT as someone described in their review. I have traveled all over Colombia and stayed at many hotels. The breakfast at this hotel was almost pathetic. To pay almost $150 a night....I certainly expect better breakfast service and food. The waiters took your order, brought your food to the table, and never returned. The coffee was absolutely disgusting. Colombian coffee is not like this.....cold and no flavor whatsoever. We had to leave and buy coffee elsewhere. The rooms were okay, no balcony, but clean. The pool is ridiculously small, and the jacuzzi was not clean. The new section of the hotel as promoted in the photos, appears nice, but is actually smaller in person. Just an average hotel, nothing boutique about it. The location was great, close to everything. The room view was of a roof, definitely got screwed on the room....and this was a suite....ridiculous. I wont be staying here again. The price should actually be about half of what they are charging....way too little for what prices are being charged.…
Hotel Boutique Villa Roma was a great place to stay in Villa de Leyva. The hotel is beautiful, clean, good location at a great price. The workers there are very kind and very helpful. Breakfast was included and it was delicious.
We stayed here for two nights between Christmas and New Years. Everything was satisfactory. The room was clean and a good size for a family. The high season pricing made the hotel not such a good value. I would only recommend if the off season rates are much lower. The location is about a 10 minute walk from the square. English is not spoken by any of the staff but with basic Spanish you can manage fine.
I found this small hotel to be very nice and a very good value for the price. It has a small pool but I was unable to use it due to the temperature. The balcony with swing chairs was a nice touch as was the decor in the room & bathroom. Super comfy bed and comforter. And a nice breakfast was included. My only complaint was I could not get wifi in my room. It was a bit of a nuisance to have to go to the lobby to tap into the internet. This knocked down my rating by one point.
Breakfast is included. Staff are very pleasant an ready to help you with whatever you need. Our room was very pleasant but lacked a couple of chairs and a small table making it difficult to use your computer. Quiet location and easy access to the main square and all of the restaurants.
