This family home of 12 rooms and 1 wood cabin is considered by backpackers as one of the most beautiful guest houses in South-America, it's located close to the Flora and Fauna Sanctuary Iguaque, just 1,200 meters from the Main Square (20 minutes walking, 5 minutes by car). Free taxi on arrival (Villa de Leyva's Bus terminal to the Hostel. With a 5.000m2 area, beautiful and extensive gardens, social areas full of hammocks and total tranquility. Fire places and bonfire area, peaceful places and ecological trails. Kitchen (free coffee & tea) pizza oven, BBQ, bio-pool, TV room and board games, restaurant (breakfast & dinner), caravan park and more!!!

It’s a nice spot in nature with a garden, about 15 minutes away from a short hike. However, all the cons outweigh this pro. It is about a 30-minute hike up hill every time you return from the city center. The kitchen and fridge look like they have never been cleaned in their lifetime and the rooms look nothing like the pictures. On top of everything they try to charge you for just about everything that is normally included in a hostel, presented in the most confusing bill ever (this is a typical trick in Colombia, I have noticed: make the bill so confusing that guests give up trying to understand them and just pay). All in all it was a quite misleading experience and I would not stay here again.

Great place, very good to go relax, and a 10 minute walk to downtown, if you like to walk it’s perfect. Probably it’s a little bit far from the transport terminal. Food is very good and staff is friendly and helpful for whatever you may need. For sure I’ll come back

We booked a cabin for three nights at Renacer Hostal, and it was a wonderful spot to travel around Villa de Leyva, Ráquira and Santa Sofía. Will go back again as soon as posible! Loved the view, the silence and nature sounds, the attention from the staff and the energy. 100% recommended!

Travelled on my own to villa de Leyva and spent 5x nights in hostal Renacer. The building is beautiful and in an amazing setting, surrounded by countryside and the perfect place to relax! The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and facilities are spotless. The location is only a 20 minute walk from the plaza, but the walk has the most beautiful views, I would not stay anywhere else but here when I return.

Very good hostel to relax and explore the suroundings. The offered tours were excellent (Iguaque, riding) but the owner does not push you into it. They would also explain you where to go if travelling on a budget. The area used to be an old stone mine and Oscar transformed it in a way that all the guests have their privacy meaning that the buildings/rooms face the garden. The kitchen prepared very tasty meals.

Lovely quiet clean and comfortable place to stay. We stayed in the brand new room with private bathroom. Best bed, bathroom and room we've had in Colombia. Good breakfast included in price too.
