Our preferred hostel in Colombia! Small, familiar, quiet and a two-bed room for us to feel at home. Nice and well equipped kitchen, friendly staff, cool music. We found it easy to exchange with the other guests around the beautiful wooden table. Ideally located away from the busy center but only some minutes to walk to the main square. Daniela also proposes free hiking tours which we very much enjoyed. Thank you so much Daniela for offering such a beautiful space ! Hope to see you again, if I come back here, I will come back to Magma Z. All the best to you and your family

We stayed at the sister hostel Magma Solar because Magma Z was full. The place is newly opened by Daniela and Mauricio but appears to be the same high standard as their other hostel. The dorm was spacious, the hostel decor throughout was nice, the kitchen was very good, drinking water is provided, there was tea and coffee. The garden was beautiful and a relaxing space. There is one hammock... i believe they will be adding more! The beds comfy, wifi good. Bathroom set up a little strange and there were intermediate issues with the electric shower having no water at all or no hot water but if there is a problem with anything at all it will get fixed. The location is near the main square, bus terminal and supermarket. About 30 steps away at the corner is an amazing restaurant Kumina.

We stayed both here and in the sister hostel magma solar. Both run by the same people, Daniela and Mauricio who are incredibly helpful and super lovely. Everything about these hostels is great! Comfy beds, good facilities, really clean and safe! Kitchen is clean and fully equipped. Highly recommended!

I spent 3 nights in this cozy, beautifully decorated, warm hostel. The owners made me feel like at home. They give you all the information that you need. The location of the hostel is perfect. I loved cooking my own meal in the kitchen where you can find all the necessary equipment. I would love to go back to Villa de Leyva and spend some more time in this lovely hostel.

Stayed in Magma Z for two nights with another solo traveler. Had a good stay, friendly and helpful staff. The owners are young and bring a good, relaxed vibe in the hostel. Quiet place just outside the busy center but only a 1 minute walk. Would definitely stay here again.

Really nice place to stay, great location near everything. The hosts make sure you have a lovely experience. We came in the busiest weekend of the year, and still got great deal. Only issue was the noise in the street at midnight, but guess that was due to the festival outside

Just had 3 lovely nights at Magma. Daniela welcomed us and explained everything. The room was very comfortable (my daughter was thrilled with the bunk bed). The kitchen is spacious and immaculate. We met other travellers and were able to feel very comfortable. It's a short and easy walk to shops and the main square. Loved the decor which is all done by Danielle and her boyfriend. Highly recommend!!

Magma Z was more Air b&b than hostel. Th e beds are comfy, the house is clean but the best part are the hosts, Daniella & Mauricio, they made our stay. We were welcomed with a personalised map showing places to eat and recommended hikes, the Spanish walk was brilliant with some incredible views. On our last day we were lucky enough to go on hike with them both, a route that we would never have found by ourselves, it included a lagoon & waterfall that we swam in along with some amazing views, the hike felt like we really were off the beaten track. Best place in Colombia for us.

I cannot recommend this hostel enough!!! The cosiest beds! The hot shower! Breakfast included with home made jam! The chilled space! More like an airbnb than a hostel. The hostel owners are amazing and with our Spanish being poor at best they have explained eveything. We spent 3days here walking/hiking and every hike was recommended and was fantastic! So close to the plaza but far enough that it's not too noisy as night.
