A big thanks to the hotel for a great experience. A party of 60 have just returned from a 2 night stay. We stopped in Heron 1 which was great, clean and truly comfortable, plenty of hot water and a great sauna. We ate in the pub and had a good curry with 1st class service. Do from the 4 of us in Heron 1 many thanks. We will have no hesitation to return.

Very disappointed with our experience at this resort. Arrived late afternoon 2nd March. Katie on reception was very helpful. Heron 11 was our holiday stay. Bed was clean, toilet n sink in main bedroom too. Unfortunately, the rest of the house was not up to standard. Kitchen floor was awful. Likewise outside of bin, cooker covered in fat!...fridge dirty inside too. Carpets had clearly not been hoovered at all. Food all over kitchen floor. Table and chairs covered in crumbs, and under table too. Fireplace was just so dusty it looked awful. Likewise all windowsills, hair laying about. Earring on floor!...Cooking grill pan n roasting dish was unusable with grease etc. Three toilet brushes were in a dreadful state. Just ends of toilet rolls left for us to use. Shower tray not nice and all toilet n bathrooms floors had not been swept!...even glasses for bathroom use were left mucky! Very disappointed. Receptionist on Sunday apologised and replaced toilet brushes and toilet rolls, but staff shortages are very clear all round. Time share isn't fit for purpose any more for which we purchased it. Usually use Elmers Court, but sadly standards have gone downhill. Windows could have done with a good clean too. Overall, only stayed 3 nights out of 7 and came home thoroughly disappointed. Would not recommend this to anyone. Whilst we were there we met a couple of older ladies who was in the process of moving there house too as their first one smelt of awful drains. My husband spent two hours hoovering to make it somewhere cleaner for us. Not acceptable really and not what you would expect to arrive on holiday too!

Set in a beautiful location, surrounded by hills and lush countryside, perfect for a restful break in the countryside. Our accommodation was lovely and spacious, very clean and had all the home comforts you'd want. We'd booked this resort, before reading some of the reviews on TA, so we had low expectations and slight worries, any concerns we had, quickly disappeared. I'm glad we'd not seen the negative feedback, as we'd have given this resort a miss. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back in the summer, especially to use the outdoor pool. Sian who greeted us on arrival, was very knowledgeable and friendly, she added a personal touch to our stay.

The grounds to the estate are well kept and the scenery of the mountains and the Manor House are beautiful. We stayed in a 3 bed bungalow which was well equipped for our needs. We brought our dog and our three children. There are short (but hilly) walks on site, the views are incredible. The bungalow itself was dated but clean so we were happy with it overall. The pool areas were tired and in need of attention - the sauna door scrapes on the floor as you open/close it, the changing rooms are pretty dreadful and somewhat unclean. The bungalows had Elemis products which I adore but the showers in the changing rooms were basic body wash. The place was a bit of a ghost town but we did go in January so nothing much was open - we enjoyed the quietness of the site and its surroundings. The place is a short drive to Machynlleth where there are a better range of facilities and transport links. The bar is only open from 6pm onwards. I initially didn’t think we would eat there after seeing the menu but I can quite honestly say the food was absolutely stunning, I’d happy eat there again. In fact, we decided to eat there both nights despite bringing food to cook in the bungalow. The staff at the bar were so lovely and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and I just want to say a huge thank you to you all. The staff at reception were also very lovely, and the cleaner was really friendly too. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and I’d happily return.

We've just got back from a week at Plas Talgarth in a refurbished Heron apartment and we had a lovely stay. The apartment was spacious, had new bathrooms, the beds were comfortable and the view from the lounge window was fantastic. The whole family enjoyed using the warm swimming pool so that was a real plus when the weather was wet. The grounds of Plas Talgarth were very well kept and we all enjoyed seeing the wildlife. The ladies behind the desk on reception were very helpful and made a fuss of my 3 children which was really nice. The only thing that could have been improved was if the farmhouse bar had been open at lunchtime. We will all look forward to coming again soon.

As this pool is open to the public we tried to use it today but am completely baffled by the booking system (or lack of). The phone line was constantly engaged so we decided to take a chance and drive over to see if pool was open. The surly older receptionist said it was full but she would add our names to the list. We were next in line after a family of three. I agreed and popped to a local pub for lunch to wait. We then received a text to say please come in the next 5 minutes as we were next on the list and space was now available. We hurried back only for the family behind us to be ushered in front of us by the surly older receptionist and us to be told again there was no room. This was really embarrassing in front of our children. We played it down for their sake, but it really is a shambles. Won't be going back. A real shame as I used to be a regular user of the spa and it used to be really nice.

I would not normally write a poor review as most places do try to give the customer the experience they promise. However our experience at Plas Talgarth was not what we expected. we complained to the reception staff at the time without much interest. We have sent emails to the general manager who has ignored them in our opinion. We have now escalated so we will see any response. issues where - vermin in the kitchen , unclean bathroom , used tissue by the bed. cobwebs - oh and the £46 they charged for electricity. We arrived 5pm Monday left 10.00am Thursday.

This resort should come with a warning that there are TONS of stairs steps, especially to get to and from reception. It is NOT wheelchair or disabled friendly despite having wheelchair parking spaces.

Nothing open, tired, shabby, unclean, on-site restaurant a joke, on site pub absolute garbage and a rip off if you can get served, snooker room locked off. Swimming pool if/when open dates, lockers a joke and changing rooms filthy, showers with no locking doors, no access to anything after 4:30pm no on-site treatments available. Used to be a great place with a good atmosphere and a good country style pup with activities and a dining area open for lunch and dinner with an upstairs restaurant, now you can get an Indian or poor pizza sometimes no lunches and no pup style food. Macdonalds really need to put some investment in and reap the rewards before the place falls apart forever

We had booked a three night stay with friends in October and after reading the reviews weren't sure what to expect. We needn't have worried. The house we stayed in was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was well equipped with a cooker, fridge, dishwasher although we were out and about each day and only ate there in the morning. There were things that needed updating - the windows in particular - but nothing that affected our stay. The staff we met were friendly and helpful and the suggested walk to see the estuary was well worthwhile. The main problem for us was the number of steps that were difficult for those with mobility issues. A few ramps would be helpful. The location is idyllic and the community pub/restaurant in the village highly recommended.
