The hotel is a renovated traditional inn incorporating a highly regarded restaurant (expensive) specializing in Basque cuisine. It is centrally located in the main street Rue de la Citadelle overlooking the old city. The street constantly bustles with its artisan shops, cafes, bars, pilgrim hostels and tourists. My room with balcony was located on the second floor overlooking the main...

This is a four star hotel review. You pay for it, and you expect a certain level of hotel. Room rate 185 euros a night. We took a Superior room. It was spacious with nice linen and a king sized bed. Good lighting and decor. Fridge and safe provided. Modern wooden floating floors. Air con control unit was broken. Some...

We stayed for 3 nights at this charming hotel as we are attending a wedding. The hotel was really convenient - in the centre of town - next to the Hotel de Ville (where the marriage took place), and for the old town shops, and for restaurants. The large double room we had was really comfortable (although the aircon seemed...

I understand there are cultural differences and can respect that; however, when a tourist has gone to considerable time and expense to get there, then your hotel staff at reception could attempt to try and be pleasant. Unfortunately that was not the situation in my case. The town is charming and beautiful, but I found the staff to be unwelcoming...

Uselessly stylish room - ridiculous lighting, impossible to read by. His & hers wash basins force guests to stand so far away from the bathroom mirror making it very difficult for shaving/applying make-up. Shower controls need exceptional eyesight to understand and in determining their operation the guest cannot avoid being drenched unsuspectingly in icy water before anything warmer comes through....

We just spent two nights here and we were extremely impressed. The hotel is modern but still manages to be warm and cosy. We just had the standard room which was great. The view was quite nice across to the mountains when you looked outside. The staff were absolutely fantastic - they took very good care of our arrival, restaurant...

St. Jean Pied de Port is an amazing town in the French Basque Pyrenees with plenty of history including the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage, the beautiful medieval bridge and church ( best site in France for photographers) and a Fortress. I ALWAYS stay at Hotel de Pyrenees. In fact, I'm booked again for October, 2015. The Arrambide family are star-earned...

We chose this very well located, family owned hotel, because it sits right in the middle of the picturesque town, within walking distance to the main street and small old church. The rooms, recently remodeled, are not luxurious but comfortable, with free Wifi access. Ours had a very modern large bathroom with an even larger shower space. There is a...

At the first sight from outside, the hotel and restaurant did not look quite as nice as we had thought. But well inside we were convinced this is a great place up in the mountains of French Basque Country. We were met by a friendly and forthcoming staff, the service both in the hotel and the restaurant was excellent. The...

We stayed in this lovely hotel for 2 nights in June. First, we arrived in town, didn't know where the hotel was, so we parked, and after a lot of walking (or so we thought) we found the hotel. They immediately volunteered to go find our car (we didn't realize it was just a few hundred yards away) and park...
