Just came back from a 5-day-trip in Samui. I stayed with Novotel in Bali before and it was good so I decided to stay at Novotel Samui.
I booked a family room but Novotel Samui gave us a pleasant surprise: free upgrading to a 2-bedroom...More
Situated on the northern end of Chaweng beach it was perfect for us. The centre of Chaweng is only a 800m walk (15 minutes) along the beach (at low tide) or along the road. Nice and quiet with our own little beach, and not being...More

We stayed in a hillside room for 4nights
Overall: spacious room. Poor hygiene. Unhappy staff. Disappointed stay.
Location: close to airport by 10min ride. You could reach the busiest part of Chaweng by 5min ride (50BH by tuk tuk). Direct access to the beach which...More

The hotel is very close to cheap restaurants, there are alot of really good and cheap restaurants only a few minutes up and down the street. The hotel is on the more quiet side of chaweng beach, although it only takes 10 to 15 minutes by foot to reach the more lively part of town where there are tonns of shops, bars and restaurants, by tuktuk it's even quicker. You only have sea view from the lower part of the hotel, the garden part of the hotel is on a hill, the view is obstructed by trees and buildings. The beach was very shallow during our stay. Great for families with small children, but not great if you like swimming. There is a beach with deep water, but it's a bit further away in Lamai.
Just two rooms provide a sea view (the are close to the pool though and you have a risk of having noise all day long in front of you). All other rooms have a very limited sea view, better will be to call them "sea facing... More
