This morning we jumped on the scooter early to enjoy the cooler weather of the morning. We left our little oasis, the boutique Sea Dance Resort, to pay our respects to a Buddhist Monk and find somewhere for some breakfast. We were heading to south Chaweng beach and stopped at Poppies, as I had read good reviews. We walked through...

We recently returned from honeymoon in Thailand, and Poppies was the second of the hotels we stayed in. We stayed at a fantastic hotel in Phuket, perhaps a bit more luxurious, but Poppies had something special about it. The decor, the quaint architecture, the stunning Thai styled individual cottages, the beautiful koi pond with the little waterfall. The food was...

Perfect location on chaweng beach attentive friendly staff, amazing food and attention to detail with housekeeping. Loved happy hour on the beach and by the bar. Cute Old thai style cottages in a tranquil setting. If you are after a modern style accommodation this is not the place. Only negative for us was the bed. Really, really hard mattresses made...

We revisited Poppies after being there 16 years ago. We could not have been more pleased to see that the staff, atmosphere, rooms, gardens, restaurant, etc.... are still as excellent as they were back then. They have added a few things but it has been done tastefully and in the same style as the rest of the hotel. They say...

We stayed at Poppies for a two week holiday at the end of March early April. The setting is wonderful and quiet yet right on Chaweng beach. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and above all efficient, they appear to take pleasure in making the guests holidays enjoyable. Our room was comfortable and cool as the...

We stayed for two weeks at poppies after a week of travelling other areas of Thailand and what a welcome we got ! Poppies has everything you could want its like a little piece of paradise, with only 24 little cottages scattered around the beautifully manicured gardens the staff make all guests feel special, they are all very polite, happy,...

This was our second visit to Poppies, our first was 9 years ago and although we had concerns that the hotel may have changed and things wouldn't be as good as before, I'm pleased to say from the moment we arrived and greeted by John the hotel General Manager, any concerns we had quickly disappeared. Everything about Poppies is special,...

The individual bungalows are well appointed, good air con, very clean, traditional almost Balinese style but with modern bathroom. The staff were all helpful and friendly but I agree with some of the other comments, the reception staff were more like doctors receptionists and there was some charm missing both on check in and check out. We found the food...

Poppies is a true paradise in the heart of busy Chaweng Beach. This hotel is perfect in many ways....from the charming cottages that give you privacy and seclusion to the attentive staff & delicious food. Similar to "Pr0Jettser's" review, we paid approximately $300 a night and this was a definite splurge for us in Thailand (esp bc there is such...

We arrived at Poppies as the third leg of our first ever trip to Thailand, following on from 3 days in Bangkok and 6 days in Krabi. After a 20 minute trip from the airport the Poppies check- in was faultless and we were quickly shown to our cottage by June, the Guest Relations Manager who quickly showed us the...
