Wow what a hotel.. steeped in history yet nice and personal... loved the place and the grounds are just lovely to walk around in the morning to clear the cobwebs before the day ahead. Loved the place the scenery is stunning and right next to a Golf Club if you like golf.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. Positives: clean, friendly staff and lovely food. Negatives: phoned reception twice with no reply. Rang bell downstairs and no one came so had to find someone. Carpark pitch black at night and no light

This place is off the beaten track but is worth seeking out for its character. It's a big, old Victorian house with large rooms of the type you would expect in a hotel of this style with modern, well-appointed bathrooms and all set in a wooded dell, up in the hills outside Frodsham. The staff are friendly and we had...

Stayed here for two nights and although the room didn't look like it did on website it was clean and comfortable. I have the same view as the reviewers Alan&Sylvia, that if you look past its issues you have a lovely hotel. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and fresh and good choice. We would go back again...

This hotel is out of the way but a hidden gem for lunch. We visit on the way to the Lady Heyes centre. Good, home-cooked food and friendly service in a magnificent traditional dining room with Rennie Mackintosh windows.

I have stayed at the hotel a couple of times over the last month and have to admit that it's growing on me. There are some obvious issues around the fabric of the hotel and it is in need of a complete overhaul. However rooms are large and comfortable and the food excellent. After staying at some of the brand...

just arrived back from a weekend away at this hotel. the room was nice and clean but unfortunately the overall appearance of the hotel was dated and in need of a lot of TLC i did hear that the hotel isnt owned by anyone as they are having financial difficulties. I only wish that someone could buy it and put...

Great location, peaceful and pretty Great breakfast Nice bathroom Lovely room - could have a comfier mattress, but spotless with era furniture. Needs a bit of tlc, but seems to be getting it. Just returned from a 2 night break to celebrate our first anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. After initial confusion over our room the issue was dealt with with efficiency and good manners whereby we were promptly offered an upgrade to match the promise made by laterooms. The room was clean, well presented and extremely comfortable. Breakfast...
