This is the 5th year in a row we have stayed in the Cheval Blanc at Yvoy le Marron, we were welcomed back like old friends, got talking to other couples staying there, we have all been visiting for a about the same number of times, ideal for a stopover whilst driving through France. Worth a detour. Lovely rooms, nice...

Stayed one night travelling up from the south west. Arrived before six but no problem and we were warmly welcomed. Room was in the main building and was a good size with a very comfortable bed. Dinner was a triumph with some lovely memorable tastes and beautifully cooked and presented. Breakfast gave a very wide choice and was also of...

We stayed at the hotel at both ends of our holiday as it's position was about 1/2 way for our trip. What a fabulous little place - the welcome was very friendly and great sense of humour! The rooms were comfortable and charming - but the real surprise was the food - it was simply extraordinary - quite stunning and...

Very nice hotel in a small village in the Loire, excellent food, traditional French with a modern touch. Small village, very nice for a stopover on the way to the south. Very friendly owners, we will be back!

We arrived at the Hotel a little early as being Wednesday it did not open until 6pm. No problems we went for a drive and visited some chateau's. Arrived back at 6.30 and were welcomed by the owner Patricia and her son Antons friend Louise a charming Irish lass who spoke very good English. We were shown to our room...

Situated in the attractive village of Yvoy-le-Marron, this charming and characterful logis maintains that great tradition of being a friendly, family run hotel with a great restaurant. My room was traditionally furnished and quite big. The bed was comfortable and I got a very good night's sleep. The bathroom was fine with a separate toilet. The bath has a shower...

We stopped off again at the auberge, on our journey north. The rooms are comfortable and happy to say very warm. The food however is what we go for and it didn't disappoint, we both had seasonal game dishes, hare and partridge. Both were beautifully cooked and flavoursome, its really good to see classic homestyle dishes still being used, and...

We had the pleasure of staying one night at the Auberge du Cheval Blanc. The Danthu family are very welcoming and our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Behind the church is a small lake and park which is the perfect place to soak up some late summer sunshine with a book in the afternoon. In the evening, we sat...

My wife and I stayed at this logis this month for one night and dined in their restaurant. It is one of the best value 29 euro menus that we have encountered in France and I would recommend both the restaurant and the rooms within the hotel for either an overnight stay or for a few days to explore the Loire...

The restaurant and its menu are just amazing, the food is classic french "Terroir" and moderne, you can find a very good "terrine de gibier" (game paté) but also amazing dishes such as the Langoustine wrapped in brick with its roasted tomato sorbet, loved it! Dessert are also amazing, the young son and Second chef was trained at some of...

“This is a quiet location but our room got fairly warm even in April - I note that there is air conditioning but we did not test it. I would check to make sure the restaurant is open before booking as there does not appear to be anywhere else around to eat. Breakfast at the Tabac next door.”
