We visited for just a few days in May 2013 for a short break but also through professional interest in this area as a wine region. It is the perfect place to stay in order to visit the vineyards and chateau in this beautiful area. John & Sue make you welcome from the start. The rooms are spacious (in fact...

When we visited and reviewed St. Georges in 2011 we said we would definitely be returning! Once again, John and Sue were so welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in their Champigny room. Sue served her excellent daily breakfast and we also enjoyed one of her fabulous dinners with plenty of excellent wines provided by John. John gave us...

We would highly recommend St Georges. John and Sue are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable; the breakfasts excellent and the evening meals delicious and accompanied by wines from the region.

We stayed in Restigne following a recommendation from a family member and we weren't disappointed. We spent a week at St. Georges with John and Sue who were excellent hosts. If you, like us, wanted to stay somewhere spacious and quiet with generous continental breakfasts and delicious evening meals in a location surrounded by Vineyards then this is the place...

Staying at the same build where John and Sue usually live, tells you everything about the kind of amazing and relaxing time which you are going to enjoy at the village of Restigne, the heart of the Bourgueil vineyards district. And believe me, this is a no-brainer if you expect to spend your holidays in a like-your-home environment. Sue cooks...

We stayed for a week at the end of March. The room was lovely with views of the Garden and Vineyards to the front and Vineyards to the back. The bed was very comfortable and the the bathroom luxurious. Lots of places to visit including Azey and Villandry but we particularly enjoyed Saumur where John (our Host) had recommended a...

This was truly the perfect break for us. Our hosts John and Sue were lovely and Sue's cooking is out of this world, complemented by some fabulous wines chosen by John. Our room was the very spacious and luxurious Champigny, and we enjoyed views straight out across the vineyards. We always love visiting this area of France, and this year...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A 'maison de maitre' chambre d'hotes with 4 letting bedrooms set amongst vineyards in a pretty village in the Loire Valley. We booked a themed wine weekend with special menus, comparative tastings and vineyard visits. We were warmly welcomed, tasted (and bought) a wonderful range of Loire wines recommended by John (a retired wine merchant) and ate magnificent food prepared by Sue. Bedrooms beautifully decorated and well appointed with luxury bathrooms. Lots of wonderful chateaux and interesting towns to visit as well as vineyards. ... more   less
