Stayed one night here and it was a fantastic hotel. A very short walk from the ferry terminal. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The room was spotless and had a very comfortable bed. Had an exceptional meal in the restaurant in the evening. The food was of a very high quality and was presented very well. It...

Finding this hotel is not a problem. You roll off the ferry and it is straight ahead. The staff were really friendly and welcoming; my room better than expected (I'd asked for a good, castle view, room for my parents and a cheaper room for me and my husband). Particularly good shower (much appreciated after a long day of travel). I...

Stayed one night in the Castle bay Hotel on our last night off our island trip. Asked for a sea view which we got, but should have asked for a bigger room too, unfortunately the room was looking a bit tiered as was the en-suite. The staff were very helpful. Evening meal at the hotel was very good we table...

We had one very comfortable night in the Castlebay Hotel. Rooms overlooking the bay have fantastic views -we stayed in the MacNeil Room which was very comfortable and well furnished. Bar and restaurant were OK, but the décor and furniture looked a bit tired. Food was good, but definitely nothing out of the ordinary. Staff were friendly and helpful. The...

The perfect hotel for this location. Walkers, painters and even the local policeman were staying. Honest well cooked food. Good Scottish decor. Unpretentious service. The perfect place to start or end any trip to the Outer Hebrides.

We stayed at The Castlebay for 2 nights in a twin room. Whilst clean the room and furniture were very tired. Our room had a fabulous view over the bay which was a real plus point. We ate at the hotel both nights as there is little choice in Castlebay but found the food to be plentiful and good. The...

We found the castle bay on Google; and it overlooks Castle Bay. This is a good thing, as Castle Bay has beautiful beaches on its southern shore [the island of VaresAY], lots of comings and goings with ferries, yachts and fishing boats; there is also a smallish but functional castle [of the McNeill’]s in the centre of the bay if...

Castlebay Hotel is the only hotel in the townlet. Slightly sprawling, in a mixture of styles, it overlooks Bagh a' Chaisteil giving a superb view of the bay and its famous castle from its large windows. There is a Sun lounge and outside seating, if you're lucky enough with the weather. Comfortable rooms, friendly and competent service add to the...

Having spent 2 weeks in the Outer Hebrides staying in 8 different hotels, where the Castlebay was by far the priciest, I was disappointed as it was the worst of the lot. It wasn't a bad hotel, but the TV didn't work (was fixed the following day) and there was no hot water in the morning, and the wi-fi... well...

Hotel has a beautiful outlook over the harbour from the dining room and bar. The staff were very friendly and couldn't be more helpful especially with our onward travels. The food was also very nice. The room was large and roomy and very comfortable. Would recommend this hotel
