I don't agree with the poor reviews. Ok so the hotel is a little rough and ready around the edges - you might have to ask for things to be replenished (eg loo rolls, stuff at the breakfast buffet) and the locals might drink in the pub. So what! The room was huge, the beds were comfy, the staff were...

As a couple in a double comfortable bed in a Huge room, with a good breakfast this is a good as it gets under£40. The room was in need of a clean above shoulder height, and the draft from the fire place could have had a vent fitted, but again it was low cost. High light here was bar manager,a lady who certainly...

Seriously can't understand the bad reviews for this place. Probably doesn't help that booking.com rated it 4 star. It clearly isn't. What it is is a great comfy warm cheap but basic hotel. No frills. If you want a cheap friendly warm Base with great food and large comfy rooms whilst you explore glorious Gwynedd and Snowdonia then bang for...

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights whilst exploring snowdonia in our Landrover, we arrived quite late so couldn't see much as it was dark, found there was a car park at the rear which is free after 6pm but opposite you could park for free in a lay by at anytime. As we took such a specialist...

I wonder what people are complaining about. I booked a family room for myself and a mate as we were off mountain biking. Firstly they thought nothing of offering safe storage for our bikes. Tick. The room was huge, I mean we could have thrown a full on party. Tea and coffee in room as well as bottled water. Tick....

The room was nice and big and had a comfy bed after a day's walking! The staff did their best to make us welcome and the stay was great value for money using a Groupon offer. The public car park right next to the hotel is free in the evenings and at night, so perfect if you are out all...

Despite the mixed reviews on here I was pleasantly surprised. Check in was at the bar, and very easy to do. Room was a double ensuite and had everything you would expect including a nice bottle of water. No food was served on the Thursday night which was a tad disappointing but there are Chinese, Indian and pizza takeaway places...

This is probably one of the worst run hotels I've ever stayed in! After several mix ups trying to secure a booking, it was still incorrect on arrival. The room itself was actually quite nice although the bathroom was dirty and could definitely do with at least fresh paint. It's quite clear some areas of the hotel have been recently...

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly from check in to taking the order for fussy and special diet requirements at breakfast with nothing being too much trouble, and the manage co I g into the restaurant in the morning for conversation and feedback. Fab sized family room with plenty of hot water and modern and clean decor. Close proximity...
