Thanks to this strategically located oasis in El Castillo, we had and good trip of three days for getting an impression of the scenic Rio San Juan and the famous Indio Maiz Reserve. We are thankful to both owners who made us feel at home. Value for money - highest score, the hotel is very good for such a remote...

One of the nights in El Castillo my friends and I made the mistake of looking for dinner close to 9:00 PM. We stopped by the restaurant at Hotel Victoria to find out that they and just about all restaurants in town were already closed! We could have been left without food, but they were kind enough here to accommodate...

We changed many hotels in Nicaragua, and this has been one of the best! The room are comfortable, all wooden, and quite big. The bathroom is clean, and the people very nice and careful. There's a lovely terrace at the first floor, where you can relax enjoying the view of the river.

Great location ( at the edge of town - there now are homes beyond where the hotel is located) on the river. Clean + quiet. Food was good but not outstanding. Owner/manager was really helpful. Best to know a little Spanish since no one speaks English.

We were very impressed with our welcome at the dock by the owner of this hotel. She greated us and walked us to the hotel. Our room was comfortable and clean. We were able to have breakfast the following morning at 5:30 am. The owner also got us boots to walk in the nearby rain forest. The dinner was also...

This is a simple hotel but the best in town. The rooms are clean but sparsely furnished. The female owners are friendly and helpful, preparing good, fresh food. It's also the best place to eat in town. Ask fro a river facing room which have shaded verandas outside. A great base for exploring the Río st Juan.

El Castillo is remote, but for me that's what made it the highlight of our stay in Nicaragua, and this hotel was the perfect place to stay. The staff are friendly, welcoming and can't do enough for you. The food was tasty, and the location on the banks of the river is just beautiful. The hotel accepts credit cards, but...

Great location just downriver from the rapids and nice and quiet. The rooms are simply beautiful with polished hardwood planks on walls and ceiling: huge comfortable bed, a fridge, hanging space, TV, hot water shower and big picture windows. A lovely terrace as well with hammocks and chairs. The staff are charming and looked after us wonderfully. Food good and...

What could possibly go wrong in a hotel that is called Victoria, we love the Victoria beers here. After talking to the owner we learned that they did not name the hotel after the beer :P Big ,very clean rooms with comfortable king size bed, a/c, TV and hot shower. Staff and owners very friendly and helpful. They lent us...

I loved El Castillo, and this hotel was a real find. My second floor room was quiet and clean, with access to a lovely balcony with a hammock, relaxing views of the river and a gorgeous old tree full of birds and the occasional iguana. The room had air conditioning and hot water, which was a pleasant surprise because we...
