I recently stayed at the Highlands motel for 2 nights with my husband and we had a great time. The rooms are updated and decorated nicely as opposed to most motels that don't take ambience very seriously! It's nestled off highway 35 so you don't hear the road and is within walking distance to a great steak house- The Peppermill....

I stayed the weekend here with my sister and my 3-year-old son in the Moose Loft. It is a pretty property - very accurately described in previous reviews and on their website. The Loft as well as the property were very well maintained and clean. The hosts were friendly and helpful. My son was very excited to see his first...

The rooms were great the people were friendly. The outdoors was very relaxing, they have a fire every night and a club house where you can bbq use the kitchen, etc. easy to get to and a hop skip and jump from the highway. The pepper mill restaurant is in walking distance. Thanks for a fantastic stay.

We had a clean and comfortable room with a short walk to a clean lake, for swimming. We walked five minutes to an excellent restaurant nearby. After dinner we sat around a camp fire with the owners and had some lively conversation. It was a diverse group of people, some flew up for the weekend, some were off-roading in Jeeps...

We travel a lot and found this motel to be excellent in every way: friendly welcome, absolutely clean, relaxing décor and above all a quiet solid sleep. Sandy swimming beach within a 2 minute scenic walk and an excellent restaurant (The Mill Pond) in Carnarvon 4 minutes drive away.

I have travelled a lot in Europe, several times across Canada from one coast to the other, and extensively over many years in the USA. But never, ever, have I found a cleaner, more gorgeous motel than this one, with the friendliest owners anywhere. It would be right at home in an Austrian alps picture-book village. It is just plain...

Clean & comfortable rooms. The owners were so nice - very helpful and accommodating to all our needs. This was a great setting for a large group which the clubhouse was good for making meals and gathering to visit with everyone. We had Canadian family, U.S. family and family all the way from Ireland. Our last night featured a campfire...

I travelled with two other ladies for a getaway while our husband's were in Michigan at the Nascar races. We had tried to book a hotel room last minute anywhere in Northern Ontario but were not having much luck. Fortunately due to a last minute cancellation we were able to book the Loft at the Highlands Motel in Minden. How...
