Lovely quiet, clean and well equipped apartments in a great resort. The apartments are in a great location and the swimming pool is set in well tended grounds with palm trees and lovely plants round about. Wonderful mountains create the back drop for the pool and our bedroom window looked out onto this. Valle Gran Rey is fabulous, has lovely shops and restaurants serving great Canarian food. The only drawback was the bus service. I would advise anyone wanting to travel by bus to go up to the bus station as if the bus is full there it doesn't go round the resort to pick up passengers. we waited 40 minutes only to be informed of this by a taxi driver.

Friendly welcome from the gentleman on reception when we arrived fairly late in the evening after a 1 1/4 drive from the ferry in the dark. The apartment on the first floor up steps by the reception was quite bland but comfortable. It had everything we needed and was very convenient for Spar and some good coffee shops and local stores. We liked the area which was the new build add on from original harbour area. Having seen our beloved Playa Blanca almost ruined by development this seemed very undeveloped to us but no doubt to travellers here from decades ago they feel the same way as we do about PB. But anyway I digress. The apartments are set around a pool with tropical plants which is very nice, strange that the apartments weren't built with balconies facing inward instead of the road. The apartments on one end tho do have balconies that face inward. I would stay here again for sure.

This is our second year holidaying here and we could not be happier. The location is centrally located so that Vueltas, La Puntilla and Playa María are almost equidistant and just a pleasant sea-side walk away. You also have a supermarket, a chemist, a gym, a bakery and toy and clothes shop in the same building. It's minutes from the beach (La Puntilla or Charco del Conde are the closest) but you also have a swimming pool if you fancy a bit of exercise after the beach. It's also child-friendly, our four-year-old loves the little pool for splashing about safely (the sea in VGR can be qutie rough). The apartments are large, with a fully equipped kitchen, a balcony and a living room with an additional sofa bed and television. This means that after the beach, you have a lovely place to relax in until wandering off in the evening again. Cleaning is regular and the reception staff could not be friendlier. We can see ourselves returning here again and again.

On arrival there was a little confusion over the booking -our fault, we had extra guests. The boy on reception was lovely and sorted everything out for us. This is a very well kept resort and the tropical gardens are beautiful making it feel like a little oasis, the trees always provide a bit of shade at the pool. The apartments are large and very well equipped - but no kettle for tea. It is so peaceful but on your doorstep is a nice cafe/pizza place which was great, supermarket...everything and only a few minutes walk to either the harbour or the rock pools which were fantastic. I can't wait to go back....
