While we were hear we were told to visit Jardin Las Hayas and this is a very nice place we were quite surprised with it we looked around and had a drink in the bar area its very picturesque there food is local cuisine the staff were very nice.
Small, simple, clean, nice hotel, just met our modest expectations. Reception is located in the restaurant Efigenia, some 300 m up the same main road. Only problem: reception staff was slow and not very nice. They looked new in job, meybe they still have to learn nice manners with guests...
Spent one night. Very picturesque place out of the way. The rooms were very tidy and in nice condition. Good food! Local cuisine with a nice view. Only “one” dish on the menu for dinner but it was great! Don’t worry, the “one”dish was actually several.
We booked to stay here in January and I made the mistake of failing to fully read the reviews of the place. It is in a beautiful location, though unfortunately in winter because of the altitude there is always a lot of mist around. It was also very cold. The cottage we stayed in had no adequate heating. The stone floor was very cold, too cold to take a shower in the evening. The bed was wonderful, and in the cold, dark silence we slept extremely well. There was a badly fitted log burner and after showing the proprietor what we wanted we were given a couple of firelighters, a half empty box of matches and a small box of sticks. We then spent a somewhat smokey but warmer night in our little cottage. It would have been really nice if the owners put a little more effort into making their customers happy and comfortable. The nearest mini market is a 25 mins drive down the mountain, so a pint of milk, a carton of juice, bread/ butter would have been so appreciated as would the materials to make a fire with. We were left some clean towels half way through the week, as we had been drying the used ones around the fire which I felt was a bit of a fire risk. At no time during our stay were either of our bins emptied. I personally would not have a problem with dropping them into a bin where our car was parked, but the nearest one was up in the car park near the restaurant. A few hundred metres up the hill. The lighting on the steps was poor and needs attention. The place could really benefit by being updated with more thought given to the guests needs. On the whole, a bit too much like camping which we have done plenty of when we were younger.…
room was basic to say the least, it says all rooms have private terrace, the room i stayed in had a door leading out onto a rock wall with about 2 foot of space, tv controls didnt work, the settings for the hotel are in a lovely area but miles from anywhere really,
