Sri Lanka is a tropical island with world-class surf, located east of the southern tip of India. Here you have fantastic surroundings with lots of wildlife and beautiful nature, in addition to great surf and a mellow atmosphere at the surf school. ‘Lanka is the home of endless beaches, heavenly cuisine, tropical climate, and a great variety of places to visit. The camp is situated near Kabalana Beach in Ahangama, a little surfing village located 3 hours south of the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo. It is a charming place with a few restaurants and a relaxed vibe. Because of this fantastic villas, the beautiful beach, and the world-class surf, we have chosen to place our surf camp here.

This one week with lapoint exceeded all my expectations. I had no surf experience at all and surfed green waves at my last surf lesson. That feeling was overwhelming. The Instructors are amazing. The accomodation is luxury, clean, has comfy beds, plenty space to relax either at the pool or read a book/ watch a movie inside at the enormous living room on the comfy sofa. The staff is outgoing, helpful and chatty. The week is organized well. You’ll come around a lot. You can always join an activity with the group or do your one thing. I liked that opportunity. Twice we went out with the whole group, that was super funny. All in all I highly recommend lapoint. Go there learn to surf and have an awesome week. Thanks to the staff Simone and Charly

everthing works perfectly. The transfer from the airport, check in and surfing. The highlight are defenetly the meals. That starts with breakfast with fresh juices over lunch wih the best fish burger ever till dinner with a great buffet. Local food, most vegetarian and not that spicy. So about the surfing is just one thing to say. Oh my god, so amazing instructors! I learned so much in short time. The waves are better in high season which is from november till april! Thats the best time to travel to sri lanka. But in low season its also good. Little bit rainy but still warm and not so busy. What else....yeah the local people are really nice and kind. The rooms are clean and pretty. And the pool is the most popluar place in the camp. There are many things to do after surfing around here e.g. rainforest, safari, teaplantage and visit many nice cities. Thank you lapoint for the great time!! See you!

The first thing that will meet you at Lapoint Surf Camp Sri Lanka is one of the nice social hosts who works there. We were met by Alissa, who was smiling and being kind all week. She introduced us to how the camp works, and also how they do their part to save the environment. Lapoint is very concerned with the environment, they even arrange a weekly beach cleanup at all their camps. During the week, the social hosts arrange trips to the coolest and best restaurants in the area, where the prices are already negotiated for a group discount. They also arrange trips to the rain forest and safari in the nearest national reserve. The food and hygiene at the camp are great. There are local people working to make food and clean in the area. They are very skilled, so you can expect top quality food and clean rooms. In August, it's off-season in Sri Lanka, this means that there are some rainy hours, but mostly sunny. This also means that the surf is not as good (but also not as crowded), so the nearest surfing beach is a small tuk-tuk-ride away. The instructors are good English-speakers, and they are really passionate about teaching. The surf was definitely the highlight of our stay. Keep in mind that the average guest in these camps is around 25 years old.
