The Deco House is an amazing place for a holiday. We stayed there for a full week with the whole family (two kids and grandparents). Everybody was happy, relaxed and felt at home. We stayed in the main house, which is just beautiful in every detail. The kids had a separate pull-out bed in our room which was perfect for us, with the grandparents in a separate room next to us. We had lots of space to chill, work and hang out in. This setting made it such a comfortable stay. The furniture (and every other detail) is so carefully selected and beautiful. Our mornings started by the pool where the kids spent most of their time, from morning to evening. We had a lovely cup of coffee and Tomas and the staff took such great care of us. They made us feel like the most important people in the world while being effortless and relaxed at the same time. The focus just seemed to be that we should have a lovely holiday and they were there for us to make that happen. The pool seemed to have the perfect temperature and the garden is super-pretty. The big mango tree creates a beautiful setting and the monkeys came to visit us. Tomas called this "The Deco Zoo", with birds, monkeys and peacocks passing by. So nice! As you can tell, we thought The Deco House was the perfect place to be when visiting Sri Lanka and we can't recommend it enough!

We stayed at The Deco House for a full week and what a joy it was. The house in Ahangama has a perfect central location on the south coast. It's easy to visit one of the many pristine beaches down the coastline, they are all just a 15 min tuk tuk ride away. After hanging on the beach, it's great to welcomed back by the ever friendly owner Thomas and hospitable team. He really takes pride in making sure you have a great stay. The beautiful 50's main house is a very eye catching object with matching furniture. To top it off it has a beautiful pool area that makes a great hangout for the family in between beaches and excursions. What a place!

After a long journey through most of Sri Lanka The Deco House became my safe haven. The surroundings are so peaceful. The garden is kept so well, with a huge mango tree in the middle. The papaya, pineapple and cinnamon trees makes this garden a paradise for great variety of birds. Peacocks, green parakeets and kingfishers come here every day. So does the chipmunks and the monkeys. The swimming pool is amazing and so is the food. The Deco House get’s my best recommendations. And I have been to many srilankan hotels. The Deco House is one of the best.

I stayed 8 days with my girls (10/12), and my husband in the family suite. Everything was perfect from the first to the last day. The whole team is so friendly, and tries to make you feel so confortable. Tomas is there everyday to give you the best advise for your day, and he’s an incredible artist, with a gallery just in front of the house and he even had local spices to sell, with nice packaging for a gift. The rooms are very clean, the garden and the swimming pool is amazing. We almost had dinner everyday at the Deco House. All the meals are very tasty, and the breakfast is incredible. Special thanks to Ranil for his service, he even organised a local school visit for our last day. It was a nice experience for my girls. We wanted to stay there forever! Thank you so much!

After leaving the middle section of our holiday free of plans and having spent our first night at The Deco House Ahangama we decided to extend our time there and stayed for five nights in total. Staying at The Deco House really did feel like we were in paradise and as each day passed the staffs attentiveness did not wain. The perfect place to really wind down and relax while still providing you with an opportunity to explore the local village and the beach town of Ahangama. The rooms were spotless, the grounds and pool were kept in impeccable condition, we ate all of ours meals at The Deco House as the food was delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly and engaging, ensure all of our needs were met. We really did not want to leave. Thank you Deco House and we wi being seeing you soon when we return!

We stayed here for 3 nights in January. Really nice atmosphere, totally relaxed, fantastic helpful staff and beautiful surroundings. Pricey but worth. Walking distance to Ahangama downtown, train station and different beaches.

The Deco House is an oasis in the otherwise busy southern coast of Sri Lanka. From the first second when you enter the grand gates and view the premises, you will feel a great calm and awe. The garden is full of detail. “Small corners” everywhere mixed with grand palm trees and bushes – everything centered around a beautiful pool and pavilion. We stayed in The Cottage: a separate little house with tasteful interior design (the owner, mr. Tomas, is Danish after all). Great detail and local touches. It also includes an amazing outdoor bathroom! Love it. Mr. Tomas and the rest of the staff are the most lovely people ever. Always helpful and caring. They will take good care of you with three meals per day, plus coffee. We were coming from a guesthouse in Ahangama, so all of this was truly heaven. They will help you with any question, and help arrange transportation. The surroundings is different from the coastal villages. Lush fields, a Buddhist temple, and huts and houses. You walk in to Ahangama in 10-15 minutes. The only bad thing with Deco House is that it’ll make you stay there and not wanting to leave... Everything is so meticulously full of beauty and detail. A big thank you, Tomas and staff. See you soon! / Johan & Clara
