We stayed for 15 nights at Amara Villa for our honeymoon and it was fantastic! It is a really spacious villa, with big, pristine rooms and lots of space in the grounds, very very peaceful and secure. The wonderful staff at the villa made our stay, thank you Rasika and everyone else for providing top class service. The Sri Lankan breakfast was amazing! First class experience!
Amara Villa has a cozy environment for a vacation. The service provided superb as well as the food. The rooms were really spacious and comfortable. The location and its surrounding area were so perfect because of its amazing garden. The food was excellent with a menu of Sri Lankan curries. It's just a two-hour drive from Colombo.
I stayed at Amara with my family and sister in law and kids. We were visiting from Sweden and stayed at Amara as I had heard of the place. It is a fantastic location with easy access to one of the best beaches in the South coast, Ahangama beach. The rooms were excellent, comfortable and modern. What we got was boutique villa facilities and service at a much better price. The staff were excellent, from the manager to the chef who made the best Sri Lankan dishes. They were able to order fresh fish, almost out of the boat and make it any way you like. They can also make western contemporary dishes in a very well equipped modern kitchen. The Villa garden was exquisite, with a nice pool and great place to relax in the afternoon or for an evening drink. There are plenty of very nice food and entertainment options walking distance from the Villa. My sister in law and family loved the place and stayed there for an additional 6 days.…
Very cosy and quite, home-like atmosphere. I think the hotel was all booked yet it felt like we were the only ones there. Nestled in the jungle - no city noices, just nature all over you, including your room and bathroom) It was very relaxing to wake up to the sound of birds or having breakfast with mongoose hanging around or to swim in the pool when the павлин is wandering in the garden. The only disadvantage was the pool that seemed a bit dirty with cloudy water and dead insects in it. Otherwise the stay was perfect! Friendly staff, excellent breakfast - different every day except for the fruit plate. Rooms are huge with big bathrooms. Hot water, shower power - all is ok. The house is very beautiful, colonial style.
We were lucky enough to be able to book out the entire 'hotel' for our Christmas and New Year with two families. We were unsure what exactly we were getting into as we had never been to Sri Lanka before and it was much more than we would normally splash out on a holiday due to it being a special occasion. To say we were impressed is an understatement. From the impressive entrance to the gorgeous gardens with perfect-sized pool, via the large, clean, sumptuous bedrooms. As if that wasn't enough, the staff at the villa were amazing. So helpful and managed to find the perfect mix of professional and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and yet they still took time to get to know our family and make us feel really relaxed. Special thanks to Nishanti who runs a very tight ship and thinks of everything. We loved the food at Amara also. Authentic Sri Lanka breakfasts and dinners. They also provided Italian, Chinese and a BBQ one night, but the Sri Lankan food was hard to beat. We travelled with 5 children between us, a vegetarian, someone with a severe nut allergy and a couple of fussy eaters. No one went hungry! There is so much space at this villa that we felt like we could come together but also get a little bit of quiet time. Just perfect for two families or a group of friends holidaying together. Thank you Amara Villa for a truly magical holiday. We will be back!…
Stayed here in November 2018 on a trip to Sri Lanka which involved watching England in the cricket, playing golf, safaris and general sight seeing. One of the best villas I’ve stayed in, everything was prefect, clean rooms, huge living area, great scenery and friendly staff who produced English and Sri Lankan food of the highest quality to suit our needs. 5/10 min walk to some picturesque beaches, lovely resturaunts and only a short ride to Galle which has many places to explore. Would recommend to everyone and hopefully not too long before I’m back there again!!
We stayed during our time in southern Sri Lanka and received 5* service. Huge, clean rooms with incredibly friendly staff. Beautiful breakfast every morning and lovely pool and grounds. Had dinner out most nights but one evening the chef came and made tasty, authentic food. Some of the beaches about a 10 minute walk away were the most beautiful I have seen (see pics). We went safari and golf thanks to a driver recommended to us who was so friendly and knowledgable we kept him on for a few more days. Whale watching, Galle and the famous stilt fisherman very nearby as well as turtle hatcheries. Clean, friendly and genuinely of the highest quality. Will see you again!!!
Just come back from a week stay at this lovely villa. It’s in the perfect location to beautiful beaches with good views. It’s only a 20 minute drive from Galle which is must visit. The staff couldn’t do enough to help with anything we asked of them. The food was very nice and they made us feel at home. Spoke good English which was good. The rooms were very big and clean as was the whole villa. I would highly recommend this vill to friends and family. It was perfect from the moment we arrived.
From the moment I arrived everyone at Villa Amara made me feel very welcome. Beautiful property with a lovely pool and very comfortable, clean rooms. The food was superb too, the best string hoppers, egg hoppers and dhal that I’ve had in Sri Lanka. The service was better than you’d get in a 5* hotel, the staff went the extra mile to make my time there special. The perfect place to stay for an authentic and luxurious experience of Sri Lanka. Can’t wait to return!
