Just returned from Sri Lanka - wow what an island, so much to see, so many beautiful beaches and all Sri Lankans have the most wonderful smiles. Stayed at Nos Da Ty - which is a hidden gem. Behind the big wooden gates is a beautiful, tranquil garden and a small perfectly run, peaceful hotel. Indra and his team cannot do enough for you, from picking you up from the airport to ferrying you around in the Tuk Tuk, to recommending places to see (and arranging them) to cooking delicious meals (I will come back to these later), to sorting out your washing. The whole team are delightful and so proud of their home and the hotel. Having just returned from the island do not believe the press/media, the country is experience a few (very peaceful) protests about rising inflation and fuel costs but everywhere is calm and carrying on as business as usual. If you are thinking of going please, please do, this country needs our support and this hotel is the ideal place to stay. Ajith the cook is excellent and he will cook whatever you want - like having your own private cook, there is a menu but we went off piste and made our own requests which were dutifully served up. They source everything on the day and buy all the fresh fish on the day straight from the beach a couple of meters away. Ishan then delivers everything to your table with a huge, proud smile on this face ensuring you have everything you want and need. This is our 2nd time at the hotel and we will go back again and again. Thank you Indra and your team for a wonderful few days the only sadness is that we had to come home! See you all again soon.

What a find, an oasis, a place to escape, a place to enjoy and live. A place to recover after 2 years of Covid. A beautiful historic building that has been lovingly restored. Indra is the perfect host. The rooms are large with 4 poster beds and tastefully designed. We were in the upstairs room which had a nice sitting out area on the landing. Downstairs rooms had private balconies. The hotel is in a village so WIFI can sometimes be slow- but who cares, just relax. There is a lovely clean pool surrounded by trees and flowers. Often we were the only ones in the pool, so it felt like our own private pool. The food is amazing - the chef is outstanding, food you would expect in a 5 star hotel and very good portions. All the staff were brilliant, kind, friendly and helpful. 5 minutes walk away is the beach. It is worth going on a lagoon safari to see the sunset. Also not far from Galle, well worth a visit. We wished we had booked for longer only 3 nights, and know we will return.

Nos Da Ty is an oasis in Sri Lankan paradise. A beautifully designed, spacious, yet cosy room with a grand four poster bed, this was luxury with a boutique touch. We spent many happy days by the pool, surrounded by tropical plants and brightly coloured birds, listening to the sounds of the jungle. There is also a private yoga shala high in the trees and a garden to stroll around. While Nos Da Ty itself is peaceful place to relax, the surrounding area has a lot to offer with whale watching, lagoon safaris, and a beach a short 5 minute walk away. Indra, the lovely manager, can help organise any tour and trip to make your stay stress free. One of the true highlights for us of Nos Da Ty has to be the incredible food. The chef is so talented and attentive to your needs, and cooked by far the best food we've ever had. Overall, you can't come to Sri Lanka without staying at Nos Da Ty.

Wow. Everything about this intimate little 'hotel' is fantastic. Tucked away from the main coastal road, nestled amongst local dwellings, this jewel is surrounded by nature. We stayed for 2 weeks and were spoilt by chef Ajith, waiter Ishan and host Indra. The food is amazing, the service is personal, the location is incredible, on the edge of Koggala lake and a short walk from the most beautiful beaches I have seen, where you can just rawly and sip on water from the freshest of coconuts, straight from the tree. The rooms are spacious, with very comfortable four post beds and very nice air conditioning! The grounds are filed with palm trees where you will see lots of monkeys, kingfishers and chipmunks throughout the day. With only a few rooms, the pool area feels almost private with lunch and drinks available throughout the day. Dinner is something else though, you must try all of the seafood and Sri Lankan curries on offer. Indra arranged for us to visit Udawalawe National Park to see lots of wildlife in natural habitat, where the elephants stole the show. Also recommend visits to Galle, boat trip on Koggala lake and Ahangama beaches. Thank you so much Indra and his team, and also the lovely Dilshan, who will take you wherever you need to go by Tuk Tuk! Thoroughly recommend, a hidden gem.

Stayed here for two weeks in January and can't recommend it enough! Indra and his team went above and beyond every single day to make our stay the best it could be. Nothing was ever too much trouble and being a boutique hotel gave it that real personal feel. The food was incredible and we felt like we had a personal chef every day of our holiday. The local beach was our favourite and only 5 mins away in a tuk tuk, Dilshan the hotels tuk tuk driver was always available to take us wherever we wanted to go. And super knowledgeable and helpful. The property is set back from the main road and it feels like you're in another world, a jungle feel to the relaxing poolside gardens. We saw monkeys, mongoose, beautiful tropical birds and chipmunks every day while we had breakfast or relaxed by the pool. It was truly such a relaxing place. Talking of breakfast...Wow! The freshest tropical fruit platters I've ever had and Sri Lankan omlettes were delicious. But again, Chef will cook whatever you request. I could go on and on about all the little things that made this place so special, but just go and try it for yourself, I guarantee you will leave there vowing to go back!!

Nos da Ty, is a small boutique hotel where you are made to feel like a house guest, serenely beautiful surroundings in a rural setting five minutes from the beach and 20 minutes from Galle. The food is bespoke for each guest and the chef incredible. Arranging trips out is very easy either by tuk tuk or car for longer trips. Like everywhere in Sri Lanka nothing is too much trouble and service is truly with a smile.

This boutique hotel is tucked away from the main road and has a charm all of its own. Indra and all of his staff do their utmost to make your holiday everything you wish for. You can explore local gems from restaurants to beaches, whale watching trips and the famous Galle Fort in Dilshan's tuk-tuk or be chauffeured by Indra himself to the wildlife reserves at Bundala and Yala. Nishan will serve you delicious dinners made by Ajith the chef who will also give you a cookery lesson so you can bring the taste of Sri Lanka home. Breakfasts are delicious with the wonderful taste of fresh tropical fruit, Sri Lankan omelette and even porridge if you wish! Rooms are exceptionally spacious with comfortable four poster beds and roomy en-suite showers. It's a great place for birders - I saw 14 species just flitting around the hotel gardens on the first day. The pool is cleaned daily and is wonderfully refreshing. From the first day it feels as though you are staying with old friends. We were very sad to leave and regrettably saw first hand the difficulties in keeping a business afloat during a pandemic with constant cancellations. Our advice? Come to Sri Lanka and stay at Nos Ta - you will not regret it.

From the very first moment you meet the team to your last day saying goodbye, you immediately feel like family and part of an amazing community. The hotel is beautiful with a fantastic swimming pool, lovely bar and it’s surrounded by beautiful jungle where monkeys are flying between trees above you. The breakfast is incredible with fresh fruit every day accompanied by any extras of your choice like Sri Lankan omelettes, Sri Lankan hoppers or even some boiled eggs and toast, truly fantastic. Indra, the main man is incredibly helpful, kind and lovely to spend time with. He and his team will make you feel so welcome and provide you with all the advice for the local areas so you can have the holiday you’re looking for. We highly recommend having the odd dinner in at the hotel as the evening food is delicious too. The Sri Lankan 4 curry option is a must! We highly recommend a visit to Bundala National Park and Yala National Park which Indra can arrange for you. We’d also recommend a cooking class and a trip to Ella if you get the chance. Again, Indra can arrange. We truly had a fantastic time and can’t wait to visit again!

We stayed seven nights at this wonderful boutique hotel and everything about it from the owners Peter and Indra, staff including the marvellous Tuk Tuk driver Dilshan, all the kitchen and housekeeping stagg, food and location was perfect. There was a real sense of pride in the staff and a friendly smile to go with it. Everything from English style breakfast ( some European hotels could learn a trick or two about cooking bacon) the fresh fruit platter was amazing and they even had French press coffee. The Sri Lankan curries were wonderful and the home made ice cream a real treat. The swimming pool was well looked after ( we marvelled as one day a guy clad in full length pack a mac, trousers, flip flops, Covid mask and scooter helmet set to work cleaning the pool) and a swim before breakfast was a good way to start the day. The terrace outside our room was a good place to take the first coffee of the day - watch the Mongoose family out on manoeuvres and also the Monitor Lizard or Iguana depending on who you speak to creep across the lawn. Trips to Galle, Unawatuna, Mirissa and Weligama were all less than 45 minutes away. While Peter’s insight into Sri Lanka are always accompanied by some humorous story telling - Indras knowledge will help you any where on the island. Indra indeed stepped in when our car had a hitch and helped us arrive at Ella via Yala with tales to make any journey pass quicker and learning so much too with each tale. If you were marooned here for a month you would have nothing to complain about and plenty to keep you happy.

We stayed at the Nos da in March. We had a jungalow room. The concrete gave a modern feel but the local furnishings softened & made it cosy. We had a mosquito net & air con. The skylight shower was wonderful- listening to the monkeys jumping & screeching in the trees... A real jungle vibe. The veranda was great to relax before heading to the bar & restaurant in the evening. The adjoining kitchen/lounge area was handy but we didn't make much use of it. The staff were fantastic. Laid back, but couldn't do enough to help. They organised excursions to Ella, Kandy, Galle & Mirissa. The tuk-tuk was a great touch. Our boat trip on koggala lake was a tranquil yet educational experience. The pool was clean, warm & great for relaxing after a busy morning & we didn't mind sharing with the occasional toad. Towels provided. Mongoose & monkeys made for great entertainment. Unfortunately COVID-19 happened towards the end of our trip so we missed a few planned excursions but I genuinely can't think of anywhere else I would have rather have been under curfew. A little scary initially but we stocked up on wine & beer & the hotel did a great job of providing meals with limited supplies. They did their best to relieve our worry about getting home & we would have gladly stayed other than home/work commitments. A huge thank you to Indra, Peter, Peter & the whole team for your help, company & providing a lovely 'jungle' retreat. We can't wait to come back.
