Book it - you will not regret :)

I primarily use Tripadvisor to give reviews on restaurants - but in this case I have to deviate from that, and write a review on this amazing hotel. My wife and I stayed here for 8 days - and everything about our stay has been flawless. The initial communication with the hotel was very serviceminded. Without asking we got offered a discount on the airport transfer, since we were staying for 8 days. Furthermore all our questions were replied very fast - we felt welcome even before arriving. Hotel staff did an excellent job. They seemed to be at our disposal all the time - but still without being "in our faces". That is a fine line - and they certainly got that right. A lot of other hotels could learn from that. Breakfast was from 8 to 12 - so no need to set the alarm to make it. Great menu with a lot to chose from. We had something different every morning. The rest of the day there were also a lot of opportunities - varying from snacks, open sandwiches and nice smoothies to a great dinner menu with starters, mains and desserts. The kitchen staff never let us down - we tried to go through the entire menu, but didn't make it. Would have required another 4-5 days :) Every meal was absolutely stunning. The portions are great - and the seafood out of this world. The overall feel of the hotel was really nice. It made you feel like you actually were at your own exclusive beach house - situated right on the shore. The fact that there are only 10 rooms in the hotel - and that it is "adults only" - added to that feeling. There is a laid back and stressless atmosphere - amplified by the lounge like music filling the common/dining area. Rooms are great - the high ceiling adds to the airy feel. A/C working great - and combined with the ceiling fan, there was never a moment we couldn't adjust to the temperature that we wanted. Time to wrap up this review. We are frequent travellers - and have stayed at a lot of 5 star hotels. Still this is overall one of our best hotel experiences - and all the above resulted in a 5 star stay. We can only give The Sandhya our absolute best recommendations - and will do so, to everyone who wants to hear about our trip to Sri Lanka :) Thank you - look forward to coming back.…

Calm and comfortable stay

A wonderful comfortable stay with the attentive and kind Sandhya team. A great place to work in peace and calm. Loved the incredible sea view, shower and breakfast. Bed was so comfortable. Thank you all.

Highly recommend !!

I don’t often write reviews but the Sandhya deserves one. This luxury boutique hotel is very fairly priced when it comes to value for money. The design of the hotel and rooms is classy and sophisticated but still makes you feel at home! (Or the home you wished you lived in ;-) ). Rooms are well equipped and also have stunning sea views! The bedding is super comfy and airco works super well. The staff are very friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make you feel taken care of. They organized our tuk tuks when we needed them, sent us to the beach with a beach bag equipped with beach towels and fresh bottles of water and recommended us great local spots. The indoor common area is spacious and full of books, magazines and fun games. The breakfast that was included in our package felt like a generous four course menu and it was delicious! We also ate in one evening and that was tasty too! Lastly, the outdoor area is serene. A perfect place to chill and relax whether on the sun beds, on the sofas, at the chairs and tables or in the pool, all right in front of the ocean 😍! We ended up staying at the hotel more than we expected, because we just felt great there! Highly recommend :) …

Paradise on Sri Lankan Beach

This is hospitality in perfection. First the lovely team, always there to assist us, giving a smile and feeling us at home all the time. The chef is marvellous, we loved the dinners here: the best we had in Sri Lanka all of our travels around the island. We look forward coming back!

Perfect hotel

The best hotel we have been to in Sri Lanka, even in Asia. The design, the food and the service are all perfect. A particular care is given to the cleanliness, the rooms are cleaned twice a day. What makes this hotel exceptional and completely different from the rest is its service and the people who work there. The manager Teranja saved our stay in Sri Lanka after several disappointments in other hotels, he has always been of good advice and small attention that make the difference. A big thank you also to the two waiters Naveen and Dilan who show a great professionalism. We will come back for sure, do not hesitate one second if you wish to stay in the South West of Sri Lanka.

A Perfect Stay

The Sandhya may be more expensive than the vast selection of places you can stay in this coastal area of Sri Lanka, but I can say with great confidence that it is worth the extra cost. The property is like a really nice boutique hotel you might find in a much more developed place. Sandhya is a diamond in the rough, but still remains authentic to Sri Lanka. It does not pretend to be something it is not. The rooms are immaculate, the air conditioning is just right, the beds are extremely comfortable. The rooms could not be more comfortable. There are no children permitted at Sandhya and so it is an ideal place is you are looking to get away and find some peace and quiet. I believe there are less than 10 rooms, so it never feels crowded, even when it is full. The food is excellent, the lounge chairs are comfortable and the outside are, pool etc are very well maintained and beautiful. The facility is an all around beautiful place with multiple surf breaks within walking distance. All that said, I have saved the best for last. The staff at Sandhya is one of the most professional, friendly and attentive I have come across in all my travels. Truly, the staff at Sandhya stands out and made our stay an absolute pleasure. They find the perfect balance of availability to your needs and letting you enjoy your peace and quiet. They helped us with all of our needs and were problem solvers when we needed them, particularly around transportation. In addition to all of this praise, I need to include that the restaurant right across the street from Sandhya is one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. We were told by a Brit we met that it is the best food in Sri Lanka and I can believe that. Perfectly executed dishes, great atmosphere and professional staff. There were no misteps during our five night stay at Sandhya and it was truly a perfect experience. My thanks to the staff. We miss you guys! …

Home away from home

I stayed at Sandhya in December 2022 and had the great pleasure to come back again in April 2023. The staff welcomes you like coming back home again. Teranja, Nuwan and the rest of the staff always make sure to ensure you have the most wonderful stay. Always very helpful, kind and smiling. From the room, to the food, to the beach and the surroundings, this place is pure bliss and I am very looking forward to coming back soon again.

Amazing stay

We had an excellent stay. The hotel is really nice and clean. They pay so much attention to every detail. The staff is very very nice and accommodating. Special thanks to Nuwan who was of great help and always made sure we are happy and not missing anything. The food is really good and nicely presented. Excellent breakfast, with fresh fruit and fresh juice each morning. I highly recommend the srilankan breakfast. It was the best we had. The beach in front is really nice and you can watch stunning sunsets there. It was one of the nicest hotels we stayed at. Hopefully we will return here as we really enjoyed our stay.

Incredible hotel

We visited the Sandhya as our last stop in Sri lanka and it was quite the ending for a perfect trip. The sandhya is a unique boutique hotel, with a gorgeous shoreline and view, helpful staff and delicious food. Our stay was made extremely special due to Mr. Nuwan Manohara Dias who made it possible for us to have the best stay after a small problem with our room. I look forward to go back to the Sandhya and highly recommend it.

Would definitely recommend the Sandhya as a couples / surf beginners getaway! Best of luck to the team!

The Sandhya is perfect place to chill and relax. It is situated on a quiet and beautiful beach which is good for surf beginners. All team members are very helpful and always go extra mile for their guests. Food and drinks are great and style of the place is just impeccable. In case you want some crowd Unawatuna which has nice bars and Galle which has a lot of cozy local shops and good restaurants are just 15 and 30 mins away by tuk tuk
