The good: My suite room was clean, spacious and had an extremely comfortable bed with really good quality bed linen. The clean and reasonably sized bathroom had a bathtub, as advertised. The view from the balcony was very pretty. The not so good: There was no private balcony attached to the room. There was a breakfast /dining area between the rooms and the shared balcony. Also the pool was small, difficult to get out of and had no sunny area for sun loungers.

Hotel team creates a feeling of comfort and safety. No strangers entering inside. Thorough cleaning of all public areas and rooms. Very nice restaurant: food is freshly cooked on order and consistently tasty. Plenty of fruits and vegetables. Kitchen and dishes are very clean. One can bring fresh fish or seafood from a nearby fishermen's kiosk to be grilled (for a reasonable rate). Beds and matrasses are really comfortable.

We rested at the Sanmark hotel in November 2019. The hotel staff met very well, friendly. We arrived from the airport to the hotel at 6 in the morning and we were immediately checked into a free room, not waiting for the scheduled time (14.00). First settled in a 4-bed room, I liked it very much and we were allowed to stay in it for the entire stay at no additional cost. Fed breakfast. The hotel rooms are clean, spacious. There is air conditioning and a fan. Bed linen and towels are clean, snow-white. Plumbing is new. In addition to a simple shower, there is also a tropical one. Cold and hot water around the clock and without interruption. There is a TV. The bed is soft, large, with a canopy from mosquitoes. Kettle and hairdryer are. The staff and management of the hotel are very friendly. Fulfilled all our wishes. There is a restaurant on the ground floor. We ate in it. The menu is varied. The portions are large and delicious. In addition to the menu, the chef can prepare a dish according to your recipe. Individual approach. The hotel stands right on the ocean, just cross the road. The underwater world is rich, there are corals, and a lot of fish. Nice to swim in the mask. And whoever is afraid to go over the stones into the water, you can walk 200 meters from the hotel and swim in the sand cove.

Stayed with family here in March 2019. We were greeted with decent courteous staff on arrival alongwith welcome drinks. They changed the floor level immediately when I shared personal reasons. The room given was just AWESOME. Have a look at the snaps uploaded here. Though the property is not big and landscaped, it has good views and spacious rooms. The service level of the staff was also very good. Quick response for serving tea/ milk/ dinner etc. As Indian-Vegetarian lovers, we did have a tough time in getting our taste buds adjusted to the definition of Vegetarian food here. But, that was a challenge for us across Sri Lanka. The pool is small and seemed to be newly constructed. But, big enough for a kid to enjoy.

I stayed at this hotel while in Mirissa. The room was very spacious with 2 king beds and an ultra modern bathroom with Jacuzzi tub and full shower tower. Outside of the room is a balcony overlooking the Indian Ocean. View was spectacular. As great as the room was it was topped by the staff who were super courteous accommodating and responsive. The owner L. G. Samith Sandatuwan went up and beyond what I expected. For example I went whale watching early morning which included breakfast. Because I did not have the included breakfast at the hotel Samith insisted that I have lunch without charge. I strongly recommend this place to any traveler visiting Mirissa.

Lovely friendly privately owned hotel, with the largest and best rooms and views I stayed in during my stay in Sri Lanka. My stay was for a week in January 2019, I had completed an organized tour and was staying on independently for a week. I found the hotel after visiting a number of places in the locality. The hotel was not particularly full most guests seemed to use it for an overnight stay whilst touring. I was offered a sea view with a lovely balcony on the third floor at a very good rate compared to similar premises. My room which was large had two double beds, very good shower and a Jacuzzi spa which I did not try (see photos). As the hotel was not too full, in the evening, the restaurant was not laid up, you ordered from the menu held in reception, on occasions the Chef coming out to ask if you had preferences. Someone has commented that they had to order two hours in advance, this was not my experience, Meal was cooked to and delivered to the table outside my room in half an hour maximum, faster than in most UK restaurants. Most of the staff, spoke good English, but you are in Sri Lanka, it is more a problem of understanding. The hotel does host courses for Sri Lankan’s to improve their English, if one of these is on whilst you are there, speak to the students they are lovely and just want to chat. It is a bit out of the town, but I enjoyed the walk, there is a small mainly fish restaurant about 5 min down the road. If you are a swimming person, the beach in front of the hotel is not ideal, but this did not concern me. The swimming pool is now finished, and I enjoyed using it. For getting around the owner procured a bicycle for me which I used. If you want to travel further, the trains run up and down the coast, there is railway station In Ahangama or you could take one of the busy buses, or a Tuk Tuk.

From the time I attended to reserve the conference hall, till the end of the workshop which lasted for eight days, we were cared and given an excellent service by the staff. We paid only for the conference hall, but each day all the attendees were given refreshments. The food we ordered was superb. The premises is new and very clean. The overlooking view of the sea adds extra beauty to the hotel. I have been to many hotels both as a traveller and as a business person, but memories I have with Sanmark are so vivid and very special to me.
