3 night stay in superior room, room tastefully refurbished and spacious. Good views of valley from room. Bed linen and towels very good quality, bed huge and VERY comfortable. Bathroom very stylish with freestanding bath. Breakfast good . Hotel following COVID guidelines well…felt safe. Bar prices good, great gin selection! Terrace seating outside pleasant in sunshine Hotel under new ownership, only few weeks into it….so some areas of decor need tidying, inherited equipment/crockery in need of replacement but is currently in process of updating. …..not detracting from a very pleasant stay. Adequate off road parking and easy walking distance to centre of Rothbury. The new owners very helpful and friendly, keen to make sure the stay was enjoyable.

On a recent trip to Rothbury we visited the Coquetvale Hotel for a meal and drinks. The decor and furnishings were welcoming and comfortable. All the staff were friendly and efficient, the whole meal was excellent and we would not hesitate to return. The new owners have only recently taken over the business and special mention should go to Jamie who even gave us a lift home to our holiday cottage one evening when we were struggling to get a taxi. In these tough economic times people like Jamie deserve to survive and prosper so, if you are in the area, get down there, you won’t be disappointed.
