After reading reviews I was initially reserved about my daughter booking her wedding here however," it is her choice", I thought. Then she told me it had been took over and we went to the venue to meet Alison. Instantly I changed my view. Alison is very professional and is very attentive whilst offering advice. The staff make this venue...

When we first arrived, we encountered a man on his way out, carrying what appeared to be luggage, so we assumed that he was a guest at the hotel. After we had stood in what we thought was reception for a couple of minutes, wondering how to check in, we spotted the sign that directed us to the first floor...

On arrival, my sister and I encountered a very rude man whom I presume was the manager - certainly, he was bustling about officiously, yet would not actually help us to check in. There is inadequate signage on entry, meaning guests have to find their way to a mausoleum-like landing to locate the direction to 'bedrooms'. There is no Reception;...

Hotel is situated minutes from the village centre. It does have a lot of steps. Our room was on the top floor with lovely views of the valley. Large bed but a bit hard for us. Large ensuite and seating area. The bar and resturant are lovely with beautiful decor. We ate in the hotel on the first night and...

I stayed here as part of a business trip. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I had a clean, modern, newly refurbished room and enjoyed a good nights sleep. Breakfast was hearty and if I were in the area again I would definitely return.

The hotel is nicely situated in the small town of Rothbury, and is within walking of the centre. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent, with one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Overall very pleased and would return.

Well how do you review a hotel when you're the only guests in the place?! And we didn't eat there in the evening?! I can only guage the friendliness of the host, the cleanliness of the room and the quality of the breakfast. And I'm pleased to say....all three of those areas were well above average. The lad who was...

Rooms need a bit of updating but the staff were excellent. We had to change rooms due to a problem with the plumbing but they moved us without fuss to one of the attic rooms which had recently been refurbished and was very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant two nights and the food was excellent. The Indian guy who...

Many thanks for your positive comments, I will also share with Vikash who looked after you on your last stay. Once again our apologies for the room move due to plumbing. Since taking ownership last August we have been gradually updating and renovating each month, so hopefully we are dealing with many of the problems before they become an issue...

Came here tonight with my partner and her son. Had the pizza. Just amazing. I had the goats cheese and added pepperoni! And the others had the chicken pizza. Very prompt service. We were served by Jordan who although very young, Was professional and courteous. A real asset to the restaurant. Nothing to grumble about here. Great food, great service,...

This is just an absolute jewel in the crown for Northumberland. Staff can't do more for you, even accommodating a breakfast in bed request - which was a service that isn't usually offered. The restaurant is lovely - the food first class and generally the location is ideal. The hotel, by its own admission, is in need of a little...
