Called in for tea and sandwich one lunchtime. This is a smart and friendly spot with lovely staff in attendance. Good Covid precautions taken by staff and offered to customers. Tea (in proper cups) served with enthusiasm together with nicely presented sandwiches. Very smart WC. Staff talked us into the lemon meringue...(in the nicest possible way). The cost was a little more than we had expected but, hey.... you should see the freshly produced sandwiches........ I'm not sure this cafe still offers accommodation; it seems there has been a change of ownership / management since some of the earlier (poor) reviews were made so my review ignores the accommodation related questions and Tripadvisor may like to update the format for this entry.

We came across this little cafe by accident yesterday whilst visiting Rothbury. What a truly delightful place! Spotlessly clean and all Covid related precautions well adhered to. The manager and the waitress were both lovely - very friendly and chatty with a constant cheerful disposition - just what you need at times like these. I would recommend the scones - homemade and absolutely delicious. Thank you for a wonderful visit 👍👍👍

we stayed in Rothbury and visited Tomlinsons twice. Very warm welcome, staff and friendly and chatty. Bacon butty set us up for the day and we just had to call back for cake as we were leaving...we have sat and enjoyed cake in the services on our way home and already agreed we need to return 😊 thank you ladies!

I was informed that there are new owners and staff now...The lunch that we ate was really good...great coffee, a chilli pie, followed by the largest delicious carrot cake ever! The staff were welcoming and friendly...recommended 🤗

At long last this place has closed. Nice staff. Awful owner. Eaten here and worked here. Such a shame as could have been nice if someone nice ran it. Jackie and her adopted “mother and father” ruled this place like hitler and have never been involved in village life. Rather pleased they are going.
