The house is comfortable to stay in, but the very strong mouldy smell in the apartment is very unpleasant. Also, the towels is a cheap quality that also stinks after been used once. Should also invest in better quality bathroom matts, as this adds to the smell throughout the apartment.

We chanced upon the Forest View guest house and could not have chosen a better place. Lovely comfy rooms and a super, sunny communal lounge. Sabie itself is very charming and we are right snack in the centre of town

My family and I stayed in Firest view for 2 days and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The owner/ manager was super friendly and always there to help should you have any issues with the room. The communal kitchen is fully fitted with all the appliances one would need to cook a meal and a nice lounge area to chill with...

Everything was fantastic and we will come again in the next 2-3 years. Heather was a excellent hostess and never pushy. Excellent was, that the rooms was ready after breakfast. Also formidable is the terrace with view of Sabie.

Good location in Sabie. The manager was really nice. The guesthouse and rooms are a bit old and could need some rennovation. Sabie is really quiet village. Nothing much to do there (except for visiting the canyon)

Hi and thank you for taking the time to do a Review; I'm just disappointed that the Extreme Adventure providers across the road didn't bowl over my (bored?) guests! The 7 Waterfalls in the area, and the Panorama Route to Blyde Canyon are stunning natural wonders just waiting to be visited... I've taken on board your suggestion re renovation, and...

Fantastic establishment and a very awesome host. We loved our stay, the view from the second floor was phenomenal and just a stone throw away from shops and the lovely Woodsman Pub and Restaurant. We will definitely visit again.

A nice location in Sabie with a view to the mountains. Big lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows and a big balcony. Comprehensively equipped for self catering. Manager was very friendly, helpful and professional. Self edited booklets "what to do and what to see in Sabie?" with comprehensive information. Unfortunately no breakfast available.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Forest View Guest House & Self Catering rests in Sabie - a small Tourist and Forestry village nestled in a softly pristine valley hosting the renowned Sabie River. Endless Pine plantations feather the Drakensburg escarpment mountains surrounding this charming little town, with its variety of Restaurants, Pubs, Shops and treats around every corner. Dining venues vary from a renovated Train Diner Carriage to the Sabie Brewery Co Restaurant, the infamous Wild Fig Tree, the African Elephant, Zano’s, and of course The Woodsman Pub & Restaurant. When the exquisite Waterfalls of Sabie have taken your breath away, and you embark on the wondrous Panorama Route with all of its amazing attractions, treat yourself to a Breakfast Picnic under the trees of Mac Mac Pools, and plunge into the crystal clear mountain stream Rock Pools, just 10km out of town. The Panorama Route offers such a wealth of spectacular attractions, it’s hard to decide which direction to take out of Sabie – the Kruger National Park being just 45km away down the twisting R536, upon which Bikers love to test their lean angles and take in the mossy, earthy smell of the riverbank as the road dips and turns, then snakes its way towards Hazyview and the Big Five. Stay at Forest View Guest House & Self Catering, where it’s hard to get enough of Sabie’s spectacular surroundings, and where there are plenty of wonders still in wait for those who love the outdoors. We have secure parking on the grounds and non-smoking accommodation. Smoking is however permitted on the deck and in the garden. For cycling enthusiasts, numerous Cycling and Mountain Bike challenges are held in and around Sabie, as well as the Long Tom Marathon for runners. Sabie also hosts the renowned SASOL Rally. We offer clean, comfortable and fully serviced - 2 x Double Rooms, 1 x Triple Suite, 1 x 4 Sleeper Self-Catering Apartment and 1 x 5 Sleeper-Self Catering Apartment. Groups of 7 or 16 persons welcome. Check In time is between 2pm and 7pm. Reception closes at 7pm. ... more   less
