Wonderful hotel. We were welcomed by a friendly Konti, who greeted us with bubbles and asked us to treat the hotel, 'home from home'. We had a very relaxing week, couldn't have asked for more. We opted for B&B, i was concerned about the walking distance to restaurants. It couldn't have been easier. There is a gate seaside which took us to a beautiful harbour and nice restaurants, the walk was about 10 mins, very easy. Our room caught the afternoon sun, if you like afternoons on the balcony I would suggest that you ask for a room afternoon shade, while we were there afternoon temperatures was above 30 o. The breakfast was very good, we don't eat cooked breakfast but the fruit was enough for us with cereal, cold meats, cheese and a good selection of breads and cakes. The room was very nice, comfortable bed, well cleaned each day, providing fresh towels etc. All the staff were excellent, organising car hire (very reasonable) and games of Padel. The entertainment was fun of an evening, only for an hour but it was a nice end to the day

Hotel's Favourite
As soon as we walked through the door we felt all the troubles of the world melt away! Check-in was really welcoming, informative and friendly, with a much appreciated glass of cava on offer. We were taken to our room which was clean and spacious with an absolutely huge bed. It felt as big as two double beds. We also had a well stocked minibar and a coffee machine (all of which were restocked on a daily basis.) There was a huge TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime and plenty of UK channels. We stayed all inclusive, not opting for the “preferred” status upgrade, which we felt did not offer value for money. We still got our eggs cooked just how you like them, (even omelettes,) drinks served round the pool loungers and toiletries and a mini bar all restocked daily without the preferred status. They do have their own lovely pool by the sea plus and a lounge where they can get snacks and drinks all day. However, we were also still always able to get snacks and drinks in one of the restaurants without being preferred. The barefoot grill seems to be open most of the time when other restaurants are closed, so there is always an option! Around the pools was always very chilled with plenty of space. There were always plenty of available sunbeds too. The pool we sat by (the largest) was a bit chilly when you first get into it, but it was lovely and quiet. If you like swimming you soon get used to it! The waiter from the pool bar was very friendly and dedicated to keeping everyone’s drinks topped up! He worked so hard all day long. This is a nice quiet hotel, with an older demographic. We loved the fact it was peaceful but the hotel possibly wouldn’t be a good fit for groups of twenty-somethings. All inclusive covers you for the buffet in the day and evening, plus any of the speciality restaurants in the evening. You can visit these more than once, and there is no need for booking, which feels very relaxed. The Hyatt app shows all the specialty restaurant opening times and menus for you to peruse in advance, usually indicating any food intolerance compatible dishes. The World buffet was good for breakfast and lunch. There is a good range of gluten free breads and cakes. Delicious cheeses, meats, fish, salads, plenty of fruit, and a fair cooked range of other stuff. There is some variety from day to day. Lunch in the buffet has a chef individually cooking whatever fish/chicken/steak you ask for from scratch on a grill. We ate in the World Buffet once for dinner, but were underwhelmed, as it did not seem so special and was very similar to the lunch time offerings. We therefore chose to eat in the speciality restaurants on other evenings. We sampled all that were available; Bluewater Grill, (great for steaks and fish,) Portofino (great for pizza and pastas) and Oceana, (our favourite, a seafood restaurant.) All of these were excellent, with a much more romantic, special feel to the atmosphere. The wines and beers included in the all inclusive were very nice too. A special mention to Clara who we saw at lots of the specialty restaurants. She always had a lovely smile and chat with us! We also tried the sushi bar, which was fun and a bit more interactive. The sushi chef worked very hard making beautiful and fresh sushi creations! He also threw in a few extra delicious morsels here and there! The evening entertainment was a bit hit or miss to be honest. However the two separate gymnastic / circus acts that we saw were brilliant, talented and entertaining! There was no shortage of drinks and lovely cocktails being offered sitting around the piano bar by the lovely Agustin and his colleagues! I did not try the spa but my husband tried the gym and found it well equipped. We went on planned excursions to the Cueva Verdes, Jameos del Agua, El Golfo and Timanfaya. All stunning. My review would be too long if I went into too much detail but it’s really worth getting out there and seeing some of the wonderful places Lanzarote has to offer. We also did a little exploring locally. From the hotel you can venture left facing the sea to Puerto Calero marina, with its many shops and restaurants. You can then walk on if you wish to Puerto del Carmen. This path is dusty and rocky so bring good shoes! The same goes for walking to the right, there are two paths, both of which are rocky and dusty, but the upper path is more manageable. This scenic walk takes you to Playa Quemada, a delightful quiet seaside village with several fairly basic but unspoilt seafood restaurants, all with beautiful sea views. The one we went to (El Pescador?) served us a beautiful, authentic paella and we also had wonderful sardines, along with garlic king prawns to start. During our stay, all of the staff at the hotel worked tirelessly to make our stay exceptional. We felt totally relaxed and pampered from start to finish, and lucky to have found this place. Thank you for an amazing holiday, we will be back next year!

Not only were the facilities excellent, but the staff were all so pleasant, friendly and helpful. The choice of restaurants was a lovely option to have rather than just visiting the buffet every night, not that the buffet wasn't excellent. It was just nice to ring the changes without leaving the hotel.

Every single member of staff was welcoming, friendly and obliging with a genuine warmth not often encountered. No request too much trouble and when my partner required assistance for a medical condition, they went far beyond expectations to quickly help out by being understanding and reactive. Hotel is architecturally beautiful and remains almost immaculate after many years of visiting. I was unsure about the new Welcome Home motto but if I was ever welcomed like that on my arrival home I would be delighted!!!

Wow - so pleased we returned, what a fabulous three week stay we have just had. For info we went all inclusive - secrets call it ultimate luxury - preferred. We had booked a preferred ocean view double room and on arrival were upgraded to a junior suite which was fantastic. The preferred option gives you access to a separate pool and lounge bar/restaurant with stunning ocean views plus a la carte separate breakfast room and other touches. We were here March 2023 and we noticed a definite improvement in food and service from last year - maybe more to do but big strides in the right direction! Our main reason for returning though was the wonderful staff - they are like family! The new guest experience manager Laura Lopez is going to be brilliant and amazing in the role. She was very visible around the hotel at all different times of day checking on guests well being - she also ensured all our requests pre holiday were actioned and in our room on arrival. Poor Laura had the worst of luck when the guest experience email system failed without her knowledge. In fact the whole guest experience team were fantastic particularly Laura B and Carla. From the welcoming bottle of cava and chocolates in our room on arrival to helping decorate our room with balloons and banners and arranging a special meal for my husbands big birthday on the day - they were just incredible - it appears nothing is too much trouble for them - they genuinely want you to have everything you need. This year we noticed restaurants and bars much sharper ie correct orders received and prompt service - Christian who was in the Lounge bar last year now a well deserved promotion to blue jacket in Bluewater grill and Melania - new to us in Portofino was fantastic - such a charismatic young lady. Sandra in piano bar also new to us was brilliant - after day 1 remembered our drinks preferences and so happy in her work. Good to see porters Konte and Mummy Liane - still as helpful and friendly as ever. Valeska in the lounge bar also very helpful and cheerful. There are many more lovely staff - too many to mention by name! The housekeeping staff were very good - our room was spotless and toiletries replenished regularly. A nice touch is that sunscreen is provided and replenished. The Hyatt app lets you know what restaurants are open, what the evening shows are and daily activities plus you can also request housekeeping and report any maintenance issues. We had only very minor gripes 1. Theatre style seating in piano bar unsociable 2. Preferred guests having to go to main pool to get towels - last year towels were freely available by preferred pool - none of this exchanging tokens for a towel! 3. Waterfall in Oceana - so noisy plus loud running water not conducive to older chaps (my husband) needing the loo frequently 😂. Will we return - most definitely 😀

Nice hotel We booked preferred club, The breakfast in preferred club is very good . Dinner (evening meal ) is very basic and poor If you want to eat better food you have to pay extra and go to one of the specialty restaurants. The preferred club lobby is very poor . Daytime snacks are very limited and not very appealing . Last year we went to Secrets resort in Majorca and found the food far superior, and the preferred club lobby also 100 per cent better than here . When you pay a premium for the preferred club you expect to find better service . I also think the food in the World Cafe (evening meal ) needs a massive improvement on quality of the food they offer at the minute .

We visited Secrets for a week in February to celebrate 50 years living together. We are a same sex couple and had told Secrets this information in advance. We had decided to pay extra for a 'preferred' room, but when we arrived we were told we had been upgraded to a suite (room 217). It was amazing, so large and so peaceful. A bottle of Cava and a lovely greeting welcomed us too. We had a lovely relaxing week in this spacious and peaceful hotel. We enjoyed the 10 - 15 minute walk to Puerto Calero and relaxing on the grass area (reserved for 'preferred' guests. We enjoyed our meals at two of the special restaurants but were equally happy to eat at the buffet restaurant where we could decide how much food we wanted. We enjoyed all the food. Our special thanks to the lady who took our cases to the suite when we arrived and took them back to reception when we left. Her name began with an 'L'. She hugged us when we left and clearly understood the journey that a same sex couple (women) has taken over 50 years. Thank you Secrets for making a special occasion extra special!
