We chose this hotel as our base for 5 days of travel by car in Alsace. It was perfect for us. Charming, Fabulous restaurant ( best of our trip), spacious room and very nice owners. The famiy however, speaks very little English but it was not a problem. We stayed in the annex - Germaine house and it was wonderful....

We didn't really know what to expect and were overwhelmed on arrival. The Hostellerie Schwendi turned out to be one of the highlights of our visit to France! It is located in an achingly quaint medieval walled village replete with exposed beam houses and window boxes of geraniums. Our room overlooked the tiny square and terrace of the restaurant. It...

When deciding to visit the Alsace, I wanted to find a hotel somewhere near the wine trails. I imagined myself walking through the vineyards, visiting small villages, etc. However I found it really challenging identifying a hotel that was located ON the walking paths, or within the vineyards. I also debated about staying in one of the small villages or...

Four years ago, my wife and I had an unexpected nice dinner here. As we were making another walking holiday in the Alsace (with our dog) once more, we decided to start here and stay at the hostellerie for the first time. I honestly have to say that our first opinion was correct. Extremely friendly and helpful owners and staff....

Schwendi is located in Kientzheim. It is a wonderful quaint little town in the Alsace with picturesque houses and a pretty fountain in front of the town hall. It is not as big or busy as nearby Colmar, but that is not a bad thing. It is about 2.5 km walk to beautiful Kayserberg, 2 km to Sigolsheim with its...

If you like traditional french villages, in the heart of rolling vineyards with picturesque timber framed houses then this hotel is the place for you. We stayed during Aug-15 and thought it one of the prettiest locations and hotels during our two week tour of Europe. The people are very friendly although you will need to speak some french and...

Great little hotel close to colmar, typical Alsacian house in a charming village. The rooms are great with air conditioning. We had dinner at their terasse so lovely service with a variety of local dishes. Parking is as well good and gated what is good with bikes.
