This was a magnificent stop on our car trip. An absolutely beautiful chateau, that has been totally refurbished. Our dinner was simply exquisite, a true culinary delight. Wished we had stayed another night. A wonderful experience in the south west part of France.Be sure to include this treasure on a car trip.

This place is really a must-have if you come in the region. The perfect illustration of the spirit of Relais et Chateaux in my opinion. True historic mansion (here, a castle) where you are welcomed by a family that has put passion and time behind this project. Service is attentive and friendly. We will definitely come back soon !

This is an experience. Located slightly off the beaten track, the Chateau is comfortable with a high standard of room and well appointed. Those are the basics. The staff were exceptional- helpful to the point of me feeling guilty as the young receptionist took my heaviest bags before I could stop her. Nothing was too much trouble for her or...

You are right, the navy is not so good at the countryside, but at the end you found us. A one night stay is dfinitely not enough to discover our very nice area. Thank you for having taken time to write this kind article. All our very best wishes. stephanie gombert.

Everything about my stay at the Chateau de la Treyne was wonderful. A beautiful chateau in the heart of French countryside but within easy reach of the local attractions. The surroundings, the chateau, the members of staff and the cuisine and bar were all 'impeccable'. There was a warm welcome - especially from the owner herself. I did not want...

During a French road-trip, we planned a 5-night stay at La Treyne with our 3 young boys. Although in the Lot, the hotel is very well located to enjoy all of the Dordogne sightseeing and managed within an hour's drive to visit all the major sites. The hotel has a unique location and most pictures will demonstrate that. We booked...

When we were driving up to the Chateau we saw it from a distance and it was a wonder that it was placed what looked to be so precariously on a mountain. The picture in the brochure was just like it looked in person. The rooms are well appointed and the staff was exceptionally excellent with suggestions of sites, where...

This was the second excellent hotel we stayed at during this summer's visit to the Perigord. My husband's brief was for me to find hotels of character, not too large, peacefully located in the countryside, with reputations for good food - and with river views - and the Chateau de la Treyne certainly filled his requirements in every way. The...

What a lovely experience this stay was! A superb building, lovely helpful staff and amazing breakfasts! This is not a place to rush things, but if you are not hurried, the castle and grounds will reveal their secrets and quirks to you, one by one. I would recommend a car; taxis are expensive but the staff organised them easily and...

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed! Absolutely wonderful location, in the heart of one of the most beautiful regions of France; fabulous castle, lovingly restored and fitted with all modern amenities; plenty of outdoors activities at the castle's door, tennis courts and a serene, beautifully designed swimming pool; impecable, friendly service, with attention to detail;...
