I really enjoy my stay here with my family. The lady there is the best person that I found in France. The food was delicious. Room is very nice considering that is an old building. We arrive very late 2AM and they leave us the keys we appreciate this gesture. The surrounding areas are beautiful and the small lake peaceful... More

Le Manoir de la Foret was my original booking for my visit to Loire Valley. For some reason, I thought it was a bit far from the Chateaus we would like to visit in Loire Valley, hence, I switched to another hotel located in the city center of Bloise (Apart City - really bad decision, really really bad. Apart City... More

Stayed here on the way to visit friends for a Touraine Primeur weekend in Montrichard. Lovely location, a warm welcome from Mdm Redon and family. The hotel has an olde-world charm, the only small criticism being blankets on the bed, rather than a duvet. However, we found that our real 'raison d'etre' for being here is for the food. Our... This is a big mansion literally in the middle of the forest! The owners rents out rooms. The rooms are designed very delicately (old classic style) and provide clean and yet very basic utilities. However, everything beyond the rooms is allmost unreal. The scenery is dream like.... the dining room, decorated by wonderfu paitings of horses has a very french,... More

Old hunting lodge about 200kms south west of Paris. Clean and comfortable but a bit shabby round the edges, all part of the charm. Lovely hostess and a good quality meal at dinner for this level of hotel. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely. It might be an idea to pack a can of flyspray for the bugs if you... More

Light years away from corporate repeats. You're charmed immediately as you drive several hundred yards by the side of the mill pond, through the forest in a delicious loop that leads to the exciting, sturdy structure of this old manor. A sight to see, and it was dripping with rain. You can sniff the history full into your lungs as... More

We have just returned from a two-night stay at Le Manoir on an ‘offre de dernière minute’ – room, menu découverte, petit-dej for 2 people costing 110€ per night – excellent value. Le Manoir is a gem, a traditional Auberge of the type which is fast disappearing to be replaced by the chrome and glass brand of modernised boutique hotels.... More

I invited 3 people to dinner as a business thank you and it was worse than Faulty Towers! The aperitifs were served in 2 sessions, 2 drinks arrived after 20 minutes and the other 2 after another 20 minutes (2 glasses of champagne), with no apologies. The spring rolls meant to accompany the drinks were served after we had finished... More

Olde Worldy not so faded grandeur. Bedrooms spacious, spotless & tastefully decorated. Beds very comfortable. Staff very freindly & helpful. Parking on site. This hotel is exactly what one would expect a very grand, very old hunting lodge to be like. Relax & enjoy.

The Manoir was the first stop of a five day meander through France to Spain. The hotel used to be the hunting lodge of a French nobleman and is located a mile or so from the village of Ville aux Clercs set in peaceful grounds and woodlands. The hotel is decorated and furnished in a style suited to it's history,... More
