The Globales Almirante Farragut hotel is often lauded for its clean, contemporary rooms with splendid views, despite some guests finding the rooms on the smaller side and critiquing the bathroom doors for a lack of privacy. Nestled in a stunning location, the hotel boasts breathtaking sea vistas and charming coves, though the options for nearby activities may be limited. While opinions on the hotel's value vary, with some guests pointing out unexpected fees, others feel the pricing is fair. The atmosphere is lively, featuring a range of entertainment options, although a few guests have mentioned the music can be overpowering and the ambiance falls short in certain places. Cleanliness is generally commended across the hotel, yet there have been sporadic reports of irregular cleaning services and towel shortages. Amenities are well-received, offering a variety of activities and scenic views of the coves, but guests have mixed feelings about the food quality and the temperature of the pools. Noise levels fluctuate, with some visitors enjoying peaceful nights and others disturbed by the entertainment, noise in the corridors, and during meals. Service is predominantly seen as cordial and efficient, with the staff providing attentive care, although there have been some less favorable interactions with bar and reception personnel.

If you want a bed in a specific location, you will need to reserve by 8AM. We are early risers so could ‘secure’ and use. You will need to go out the main entrance of the hotel then walk left around to the pool as the hotel doesn’t open the access doors until later. Unfortunately, there were numerous patrons who would place towels by 7AM and not use them until 3PM (if at all). To be fair the Brits reserved as we did, popped away for breakfast then used the beds all day. It was clear other nationalities were a problem (from our observations).
If beds are not in use by say 11AM surely the pool attendants could remove the towels as at other progressive resorts?
Room size adequate for 2 adults and one child. All areas very clean. Can be slow to get a lift at busy times.
Hotel allows smoking in the open veranda eating areas. Whilst this may comply with the law some tables are a couple of feet from the entertainment room so smoke pours in. Perhaps allocated smoking tables further away from entrances and walkway could prevent passive smoking.
Kid mini disco played pretty much the same soundtracks every evening, but the amination team put the effort in, and this is much enjoyed by all the kids. Later entertainment was decent holiday fare but don’t expect Broadway.
The entertainment room floor can get very slippy (staff said it was due to the AC vs humidity) we witnessed a couple of bad falls whilst there.
Food choice and quality excellent. Snack bars had plenty of good quality, freshly cooked fast foods. Ice cream pots and self-serve soft drinks as well as bar service
Take some stale bread down to the cove and feed the fish, literally hundreds will appear. Snorkel and mask are a good idea. We only spotted the odd small jellyfish, but a few people got stung as they are difficult to spot whilst in the water. The more adventurous can jump into the cove from the cliffs.
We found most staff very friendly and engaging and added to the holiday experience
Small pool (kids) with slide is slightly warmer than the others but all had plenty swimming in them. Some slippy areas around the pool when wet.

We came here for our honeymoon after our original bookings were cancelled numerous times and we weren’t disappointed. This immaculate hotel is in a beautiful location on the headland and has stunning views from all rooms. The pool area is spotless and well maintained, with the lifeguard keeping everyone safe by politely making sure no one breaks the rules. Probably the nicest pool we’ve been in and the views are spectacular from the infinity pool. Both pool bars are spotlessly clean with great choices of soft, hot and alcoholic drinks, and the snack bar is fab. Constantly restocked with a good array of snacks, (burgers, hot dogs, chips, pizza etc) meats and cheese, fruits, cakes and ice cream.
The rooms are cleaned and the bed made everyday. Beach towels are provided along with the normal selection you’d expect. A nice touch was the bottle of champagne and two flutes for our honeymoon.
The sea view from the 4th floor balcony was stunning.
The hotel is situated on the top of a small rock face with steps and terraces that lead down to the beautiful cove with clear sea water. (Not good if you have mobility problems) Excellent for a bit of snorkelling if you like that sort of thing. Lots of fish to see but shallow enough to stand in quite a way out
There is not much within walking distance of the hotel, but to be honest you really don’t need anything as all your needs are catered for but if you do feel like exploring the island there is a bus stop right outside and the fares are extremely reasonable. Only a couple of euros.
The hotel caters predominantly for the French and their reps will ask you where you come from and if your not French they just walk off. The majority of the guests are French and their team really look after them with guided tours etc.
The staff are lovely but unfortunately I saw quite a lot of guests being rude to them so I can understand when they are slightly standoffish until you talk to them nicely. They are doing a job the same as we all do to be able to afford these luxuries. The staff that work the dining room, work really hard prepping the lovely fresh and varied food and clearing up after you quickly so you have more space on your table for more of the delicious food.
A queuing system for the lifts would be an advantage to stop people barging in front of you when the doors open which happened nearly everyday.
Masks must be worn in all public areas until you are seated eating/drinking or on your sun-bed. And locally they are very strict about this too. A small price to pay for being able to visit their island I think.

We visited this hotel the first week in September 2022. We have normally picked hotels from TUI's Platinum collection, but decided to book this holiday based on the location, good reviews and value for money. We enjoyed our week away here, but probably won't visit again. The hotel was really good and a great location for accessing the cove at Cala'n Forcat.

It was a bit frustrating on arrival that the room was not ready, having been up since very early in the morning to travel to the hotel and then being told we would have to wait until 2pm for the room key was not the best start - this has never happened with any other package holiday we have had previously. Despite this, when we checked in we were on the whole happy with the room. The room had a great view of the cove and town and was very clean and modern. The only issues we had with the room was the kettle did not work, which was replaced promptly but then the replacement leaked and we later found that the hairdryer did not work either. Also, the charges for a Safety Deposit box are extortionate, considering that these are usually included in All Inclusive hotels. As such, we decided not to use a safe at this hotel.

We were pleasantly surprised by the food and restaurant. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and there was a great selection of food available on the buffet for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, but this did tend to be a little repetitive especially for desserts. Also, the hot drinks machines are available for breakfast but then not available for lunch or dinner.

The snack bar by the pool was really good and we often spent time here in the day and also drinking here in the evening. We did visit the Adults Only bar once, but it was very quiet in there. We didn't visit the main bar inside the building as we were happy sat outside. As such all of our time was spent in the snack bar, where the bar staff are very generous with their measures.

We never had any issues finding sunbeds during the day and there seemed to be more than enough, as well as parasols around the pool. The pools did seem a bit on the small side for the hotel and were often busy. The pools are also very deep if you are travelling with young children or non swimmers. The cove area was fantastic with lots of fish and very clear water, ideal for snorkelling.

The resort was nice enough, but there wasn't much to see here and it was about 45 minutes to an hours walk or 35 minutes on the local bus to Ciutadella. On the whole I would say the hotel was very good and I feel that we were pleasantly surprised. We had a great week here, but would not have wanted to stay any longer.

The positives first. Hotel is very clean, the rooms with superb balcony views excellent, lovely big hot showers. Location perfect, overlooking the ocean and a stunning cove where you can jump off rocks (or climb down steps) into. This was so beautiful with its little bridges and a small beach at the end. Crystal clear and perfect for snorkelling. Pools at hotel saltwater but perfectly cold & refreshing and large so never overcrowded. Sun beds were an issue had to queue from 8am to get good spots.
Now the negatives. Hotel became very crowded during our second week and the restaurant is like a busy, brightly lit school canteen! No windows or open air eating so a breeding ground for Covid! Self service food never hot! No show cooking or eggs made to order or omelette station at breakfast which is what makes an all inclusive restaurant what it should be. Food was not good at all, so bad we ate out several times as local restaurants in town were superb. Staff unfriendly, I got shouted at for taking a bread roll to my room for my son who had overslept! Bar staff unfriendly too. All inclusive cocktails like sugary syrup water. No branded spirits unless you paid extra. No fancy crushed mint leaves or fruit etc in drinks was just local liquor on ice! Poured super quick without care or attention to detail.
Also supposed to be all inclusive but had to pay £60 for a safe! And my daughter used the gym and got charged £7 each time!!!!
Evening entertainment was dire just awful singers or quizzes or karaoke! Then you’re chucked out, lights out at 12 on the dot, my son went to get a drink at 2 mins past midnight and was point blankly refused! Go out to town for much nicer bars & entertainment.
My husband tested positive for Covid 3 days before we left so had to isolate alone in his room for ten days and pay for another week whilst we flew home. Feel sure he probably got it from this crowded hotel or in the canteen as heard lots of people coughing. He felt he got treated like a leper! Food brought up on a trolly everything full of salt which made him feel worse!
We would never stay in a Globales hotel again. Been to a Riu now they know how to treat people well!

Response from Hoteles Globales, Director General at Globales Almirante Farragut
Responded 13 Aug 2021
Dear Annie We are very sorry to know that you did not enjoy your stay with us and we hope that both you and your family are well. We would like to clarify that we have not had any Covid outbreak at all at the hotel, and that it is not true that there are a lot of people coughing in the dining room. We apologise for any inconveniences during your stay, but we would like to explain that we follow all the health, safety and covid protocols, and that we have not had any outbreak at all so it is quite unfair to say that your husband got it at our hotel, when this is the only positive case we have had since the hotel opened in June. Sorry that you felt that our service during his stay was not good, we did our best respecting all the rules and procedures given by the local authorities, taking all meals to the room and speaking with your husband regularly to ask how he was and if he needed anything . We offered your husband to be transferred to a place provided by the local authorities, but he refused, preferring to stay in the hotel. We apologise for the inconveniences, but we did all we could under such circumstances. Best Regards, Globales Almirante Farragut Quality Manager

We have just returned from a long weekend here and it was just beautiful. We arrived at mid day & upon arrival you pay tourist tax (€3.50 per day, per person I believe) and we used the option to hire towels as we only took hand luggage (€10 per person deposit for length of your stay). Check in was really smooth and we were given a room straight away (there were some people checking in that didn’t access a room till late afternoon- but you are advised of this in your booking details).
The rooms were great, we stayed on the second floor and had a beautiful sea view, but I can imagine if you’re staying on a higher floor the view is so much better. Defo recommend requesting that when booking.
The food was delicious, much like most all inclusive restaurants it can get a bit same-y so we used the snack bar for lunch (burgers, hotdogs, chicken, pizza, salad’s, pastries) so it didn’t feel like lunch was the same as dinner. There was great different fish options every night so ideal for fish lovers and the desserts were just the star of the show.
Water, wine, beer and all fizzy soft drinks were self service meaning very little queues considering it was very busy when we stayed. Only real queues were for cocktails/spirits and even then they weren’t too long.
The evening entertainment was ok, bingo was good fun and they did some kids entertainment at the beginning of the evening which they all seemed to be really engaged in. They lady doing it was really fun.
We brought some cards with us so made our own entertainment- personal preference.
The sea is just beautiful, we spent most of our weekend in the sea and went and bought some full face snorkels (€30 each from a local shop) which was well worth it!
Its a relatively quick walk down to the cove beach but the stairs are very steep so may not be for people who struggle with walking.
The only downside to the hotel for us was the salt water pool, we only went in a couple of times as we thought we might aswell swim in the sea if it’s salty!
Sun loungers I believe there is a queueing system that opens at 9:30am, we didn’t get downstairs early enough to do this but didn’t have a huge issue getting a sun bed later in the day.
There’s a few supermarkets/independent shops a ten minute walk from the hotel, defo recommend doing this in the morning as it’s too hot in the afternoons and lots of them close.

All in all, a great mini break!

Hotel really clean with friendly staff and good selection of food in buffet restaurant. The swimming pool area is lovely and although the sea-water pools are cold when you first get in that soon passes. We liked the fact that access to the pool area was closed until 9am which prevented people leaving towels on sunbeds at 7 o.clock in the morning. Our room was a sea view on 2nd floor. It would have been better to have been on a higher floor for a bit better view but we could see Cuidadella across the water from the balcony and it was interesting to watch the ferry boats coming and going. Also because the room was above the restaurant we could hear the trollies with plates being pushed across the tiled floor. The first time we heard it we thought it was thunder. That is really the only negative point.

I really don't understand the bad reviews. My partner and I (33 & 28) returned home on Wednesday after spending a week there and we are already looking at going back in May 2023.

The photos of the hotel don't do it justice, its really modern and clean and tidy. Our rooms were always cleaned and fresh towels provided when we left the hanger on the door for it to be cleaned. The rooms are spacious and we had a lovely view of the cove. There is air con and a ceiling fan.

We never once queued for a sunbed and went down at 9:30am and we always got the same sunbeds right next to the pool. The pool is lovely and warm considering its salt water.

The food did get a bit repetitive towards the end of the week as it can be a bit samey but there was always a special on in an evening which was always lovely. Even if you are a fussy eater you will not starve there is something for everyone.

Just a 10 minute walk away from some bars, there is a bar called Jimmy Hills that always have an artist on (we saw Motown, Abba & Bruno Mars tributes) the beers are cheap you can get a 1ltr jug of cocktail for 14 euro.

We ate out on 3 occasions in the evening and everything was amazing, we didn't have one bad meal the whole time we were there

This resort is perfect for couples or families with kids. It's not too rowdy and full of gangs of youths its just a nice relaxed resort and everything is shut by around midnight

The cove is stunning and we spent a few hours down there, the sea is warmer than the pool. You can see all different types of fish. Partner took some bread from the restaurant and took it to feed the fish and they jump out of the water which was cool to watch

Already looking at putting a deposit down for next year, really good place to stay

We visited this hotel in July 2021 as the UK came out of Covid restrictions but Spain still had many restrictions in place.

First of all this hotel was spotless and every measure was taken to keep all guest safe - the staff were all very friendly and helpful other than the lifeguard who seemed to just be a D****

All areas of the hotel was fantastic with some great photo opportunities and the rooms were perfect with UK TV if that is your thing.

The food was the only real let down - breakfast was great and what you would expect from where ever you are in the world, however dinner was not so exciting no cooking stations and a very limited menu - we ended up eating out 3 nights out of 7....

The hotel is on a cliff edge that offers fantastic views and our room overlooked the see which was outstanding at night the moon reflected over the sea which was a perfect view from our windows.

There are some great shops and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk of the hotel.

please note there is a tourism tax that Tui forgot to mention it cost is £40 for a couple so please take money with you.

We arrived at this hotel on the evening of 6th August. Check in was quick and we were told our room number 3075. Made our way to our room, very disappointed, very small, modern but adequate.
Lovely sea view but that was the only positive. Small bottle of complimentary water. Having travelled to many places, always AI we have never not received a free litre bottle/bottles in our room daily.
Cleaning service was poor, not once in two weeks were our bed sheets changed, room clean was basic and only a few times did they replenish the tea/coffee. Never during our stay was the balcony table and floor cleaned.
Restaurant, good variety of food but mostly the same each night.
Pool, you are not allowed around the pool area until 9am, people were queuing from 7am, to wait until 9am for the doors to be unlocked, there would then be people running to grab sunbeds, towels were placed and a lot of the sunbeds were not returned to until late afternoon!
We watched many people not able to find a sunbed from 10am, there was obviously not enough sunbeds for the amount of guests, disgraceful.
Very few and far between members of staff that smiled. To name a few of those that were happy, Juan, pool bar, exceptional at his job, very overworked but always had a smile. Domingo, lifeguard, very attentive and great a his job. Javi, Juan's replacement, again a happy guy.
Angel, bartender, always polite and professional.
The coves around the hotel are beautiful, the area is very scenic.
. We were woken at 1am a week into our holiday when a guest fell/jumped from a fifth floor balcony, said guest ended up with polytrauma injuries, unsure if survived. This was very traumatic for guests to see and whilst not the hotels fault it would have been nice if the hotel reached out to guests that witnessed this if only to reassure and check if anyone was affected/upset. We personally were quite traumatised by the scene.
Would we return or reccomend, absolutely not!
Menorca is beautiful but never will we return to a Globales hotel, they are neither polite or inviting

Big tip, go out the front of the hotel and walk to the left around to the cove, access sunbeds at 9am via the rear of hotel, do not gueue 😊.

Dear Deborah, we are sorry to read that our service did not meet your expectations and we are especially concerned that you had to be present at the accident. It was a totally exceptional event beyond our control and very traumatic for us as well. I hope you are feeling better, just to tell you that the injured guest is now back home and despite the seriousness of the case he is doing well. It is a pity that you did not contact your guide, as you could see, almost all our guests witnessed the accident and your agency offered a professional assistance service, then they would have offered you the help you needed immediately. I would also like to clarify the point in your review regarding to the water bottles. As you say, Menorca is beautiful and we are 100% committed to protecting our environment. We apply the least plastic possible policy, for that reason we have water dispensers in all the bars and in the restaurant. The idea is to use the reusable cups and then fill your reusable bottle with them. Thank you for your comments and your understanding, we will pass all of them to the relevant departments with a special attention to staff members you mentioned. With best regards and hoping you will give us another chance, Barbora, Global Quality Manager

My family and I have just returned from this fabulous hotel, can’t recommend it enough. Food was excellent, Rosé wine really good! The pool was stunning and the estuary/inlet of sea by hotel was just perfect for snorkelling. We had great fun jumping off the rocks! The room had air con plus ceiling fan, free WiFi, large tv with UK channels, large shower with shower gel dispenser and also hand soap dispenser by basin, all very handy. We also had an ocean view from our balcony which was perfect. The mini golf course was brilliant, my boys used the gym but it doesn’t open until 5:30pm Mon-Fri, open Sat mornings and not open Sunday just to be aware. Only negative I have, which is not related to the hotel, is a trip with TUI to an evening market in El Mercadet...really disappointing as stalls very expensive and we went around it in an hour but paid for a 3 hour trip. €20 per person including children over 12, ended up spending €80 on trip and bought nothing! I therefore wouldn’t bother with this trip, I’m currently pursuing a refund with TUI.
