Stayed here overnight. Receptionist could not have been more polite, helpful or apologetic (see below). Room comfortable but pillows lacking oomph, towels on small side and has one of those awful wall-attached overheating-nozzle hairdryers. Unfortunately, despite booking in part for the restaurant on-site, that was unusually closed on that Monday night and we had no idea until we arrived. Very...

Dear Mrs, Dear Mr, Thank you for taking time to leave your comments regarding your stay at the Chateau de Lignan and we have read your review with attention. We are sincerely sorry that your stay was not up to your expectations. Regarding the restaurant, we were forced to close exceptionally the kitchen on Monday 24th October by security measures....

A hidden gem in the Languedoc countryside. I stayed with my wife and 6-year sold son for 7 nights and had a truly memorable stay. The English-speaking staff were very friendly, accommodating and very tolerant of my pigeon French (I like to give it a go). The weather was fantastic so we were able to eat breakfast each morning "sur...

In fact, I said very good because there is nothing between "average" and "very good". In any case I recommend this hotel, lost somewhere in the countryside of Béziers. Very calm place, nice little swimming pool, very friendly staff. But it's not a 5 stars, it's just an excellent place, very much different to normal hôtels. My room was big...

Friendly staff, good pool. The food in the restaurant was good, breakfast uninspiring. We had an issue with noise from an IKEA managers meeting ,drunken employees in the garden till the early hours , setting the arm off by jumping in the pool etc,the hotel dealt with our complaint well. The rooms are in need of a bit of updating,...

Dear Madam, Dear Sir, We first thank you that you took time to leave a comment after your stay in the Château de Lignan and we have read your opinion very carefully. Used for a one night stop over, we had three rooms. Good welcome by English speaking staff, who were most helpful. The rooms whilst not super luxurious were certainly. Clean and comfortable. We had a bit of a job finding it as it is a bit off the beaten track. We had dinner in the restaurant which was fine, great...

Have eaten here 5 times now, 1 dinner, 4 lunches. Always a beautiful experience. Charming, attentive staff; delicious, presented food. . . lunch set menu at 22 euros (April 16) good value, half bottles of wine can be purchased. Outside terrace with parasols, inside stone walls and modern art. Plentiful parking.

We visited this lovely chateau for lunch 5 years ago and swore that we would return. This time we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to stay for the night. It had changed hands, the elegant, elderly couple who owned it before both having died. The setting is just beautiful with lovely grounds to walk in and a very...

This the ideal spot for a stopover on the route from Provence and the Med to the Atlantic. We have stayed here often and it just gets better and better. It is historic; the proportions of the castle are great; the welcome at the front desk is always very hospitable; the price is very affordable; the swimming pool is shady...

The outside of the hotel is very beautiful and the pool was a very nice touch at the end of a hot day. The breakfast and dinner service was great and the waitstaff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were a little dated and musty but to be expected for an older building. Overall I was very happy with my...

This is a beautiful chateau with a restaurant in the garden which is just lovely. Bishops used to live here, once upon a time. However, two negatives: no sink in the toilet which is in a separate room - not very hygienic.and the room smelled of cigarettes. The breakfast was very nice and worthy of a four star hotel. We...
