According to Feng Shui, the ideal location for your home is with the mountains behind you and the sea in front. Hotel Hellnar fits this perfectly, so that's probably why it's a calm place. It's a great base for exploring the Snæfellsnes area. There is a good coastal trail that starts just down from the hotel, next to a cliff...

The hotel looks new, it's simple but nice, and I really love the common espace where you can rest looking at the fantastic sea views. The restaurant is good, with a few plates but tasty and very charming. A good place to visit the Snæfelles peninsula.

We stayed for three days and discovered the natural beauty of the peninsula. What an amazing landscape! The hotel offers a great view and is charming. You have to walk down to the little coffee shop at seaside. Rooms are nice but super small with no cabinet at all. The welcome was friendly. However gastronomy and services are inadequate. Rooms...

Stayed overnight at Hotel Hellnar. A great little hotel with a fab restaurant. The rooms were on the small side but clean, neat & tidy. They were very hot, which is probably welcome in the winter months. A great location near some very beautiful features and trials. Ample parking. Breakfast was included in the rate and was plentiful. Staff were...

We spent two days in Hellnar in June 2016. There were six of us in total, including my brother and my mother. The hotel was very nice and the scenery beautiful. We saw four orcas right from the hotel balcony on the second night! They are regular customers the hotel staff said. The view to the Snaefellsjökull volcano is as...

We stayed for two nights here while touring the Snaefellness Peninsula. The breakfast buffets were good, though the first morning they seemed to have run out of bacon and eggs. We really enjoyed the accessibility to the trail to Arnarstapi. The dinner at the hotel was great as well. My only complain was that the lighting in our room was...

We had a room with an ocean view that was great. A good size for European hotel rooms. The room was clean with comfortable (down feather comforter) beds. The only challenge was the bathroom sink, it was tiny and had a glass shelve right above it, making washing your face and brushing teeth a challenge. The location was perfect for...

On our Iceland trip we stopped in Hellnar for hiking and enjoying the beautiful nature. The hotel is very nice, surely one of the more luxurious ones in Iceland. The views over the sea is great. We had the most expensive room with a private sun deck and direct ocean view. It's absolutely worth the money. The room was nicely...

Hellnar, like most locations in Iceland, is not large and this hotel looks out over a spectacular coastline, several small buildings and the bluffs on the southern side of the Snaefellnes Peninsula. The public rooms and the rooms on the coastal side have incredible views; unfortunately we were on the other side of the hall :( but our meals were...
