Detailed Reviews
Great location in the beach. Lots of nice restaurants and bars near by. Pleasant staff. Rooms needed to do what the did (a bed for the night) breakfast average. Was not there long enough to use the pool or the facilities.
Would stay again as it’s a great base to travel to nearby areas. Almeria was about 20 mins in the car.

Just returned from a stay at PortoMagno Hotel in Aguadulce. Wanted to be the first to post a review as we found our stay very good. The hotel is about 25mins by taxi from Almeria airport right on the beach in Aguadulce.
Rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable with nice balcony views (we stayed over looking the front of the hotel). Swimming pools are clean, even if very cold! Hotel is close to all Amenties, Shops, Bars, Restaurants.
All in all, a Very Pleasant stay if your looking for somewhere hot, quiet, relaxing but still with things to do & see...

Everything was in perfect order, the cleanliness of the rooms (cleaned daily), the selection of food sufficient, the food tasty, a good distance to the beach and helpful staff. I don't understand some of the bad comments here pointing out the food for example. Every day there was something different from the main dishes, always including fish, etc. We were satisfied and would love to come back.

Arrived on the 25th May checked in and was offered a nice glass of Cava
Then it started I booked all inclusive for myself and 2 children and was told that there was a 10€ deposit for each plastic wrist band. I have been doing all inclusive for the past 7 years and so I found this slightly odd.
The bedroom was extremely basic with bamboo furniture the plus side was the view.
Spent the afternoon next to the pool plenty of sun beds which is always a plus.
The food was inedible and I am not at all a fussy eater it was a standing joke towards the end of the week.
The hotel had mainly Spanish clientele who thought nothing of pushing in front of me and my children this could be of Brexit lol who knows.
The staff were quite friendly but not one word of English between them but we still managed to sort out the drink order lol.
Evening there was no entertainment so both me and my girls aged 11 & 15 were in bed by 9.30 at the latest.
To say that I would not recommend this hotel is a complete understatement very disappointed as I saved a long time to take me and my children on holiday.
As I am writing this review I am counting the sleeps till we gone home

My husband and myself had a five day break to porto magno hotel in May 2006. Excellent four star spacious hotel on sea front near to bars restarants bank etc. Large clean rooms all with sea view i think. Fantastic food buffet. Very spanish hotel and resort but we keep ourselves to ourselves on holiday so didn't bother us not being full of english. 30 minutes to airpot which we liked, local taxi and pre-booked easyjet taxi a lot cheaper than airport taxi. Resort very quiet until June but quite hot weather at least 25C. Take phrase book if eating out in spanish bars or cafes as menus in spanish and not a lot of staff speak english.( eg wine is vino) New english bar in commercial centre just up the road for english breakfast or things with chips and big screen football. Relaxing low key holiday resort as is most of almeria and a chance to try your spanish. Would definately return to aguadulce and portomagno.

Me and my friend stayed at the porto magno hotel for 5 nights and we thought it was great. It was very clean, the room had everything you need however our hair dryer didnt work at the time. We had a pool and sea view with a balcony. The staff were friendly however spoke little english which was a bit of a problem.
We were all inclusive and therefore took advantage of the free drinks at the bar. The only thing that let the hotel down was the food. It was absolutely awful. Breakfast was horrible. The cereals were mixed together, there were no croissants and the bread was hard. However the night time meals were better and there was a lot of variety.
The location was excellent and couldnt fault it. We were right outside the beach, there were a few shops near by and the centre commercial was only a 5 minute walk away. We went there most nights to drink at the bars. Its not a lively holiday if your wanting clubs and to party but there are plenty of bars.
We had a great time, and will definitely go again next year.

Our weeks stay at this hotel was super. 15 mins from airport, 30 euros in a taxi. Reception staff could not speak any English, and a little grumpy. Our room was on the 11th floor with a full on sea view. Room was spotless, bathroom was very modern and so was our room. Had a fridge in room which was very useful.
The seettings for meals was very long so you had plenty time to get your meals. Food was okish after a week was getting fed up with the same. The alinclusive drinks were very good and went until midnight. You had to sign a piece of paper with a pencil before you had your drinks, not sure what that was all about.
The location was to die for beautiful empty beaches with no shops and no English bars or restauramts.
there was a supermarket 15 minutes walk away up a hill. You could also catch buses along this road. We caught a bus to the city and it only cost 1.25 euros each, each way. City was lovely and managed to see all the sights.
Try and sit on the coast side on the bus as the coast line you go along is amazing and so unspolit.

Hotel Porto Magno Aguadulce Four stars at Aguadulce a few km outside Alemria city, close to the port and its bars and discos, 100 mts to the beach. On winter there were many retired people for the whole winter.
It was a good choice as we were close to Almeria anc close to the motorway to travel around Almeria.
Phone: ----
The best was the Restaurant A la Sal, the first time I have ever had dinner at the same restaurant, excellent cheff at excellent prices, everyday was a surprise ... (a great one of course LOL)
