We stayed for a week in October in this traditional Spanish hotel on a half board basis. Room - we stayed in a double bedroom with a sea and pool view on floor 13. The room was clean and spacious with a mini fridge plugged in. The bathroom had a shower and bath and was pretty modern. The beds were comfortable. The only minor issue was the loudness of the air conditioning system if you left it on through the night. We decided to turn it off so it wasn't a big issue. Food - breakfast wasn't the best variety I have seen but there was always something there to eat. Evening meal was the same, there was always a meat dish, fish, vegetables, chips/potatoes, salads, pasta and a small selection of desserts. We always found something to eat. We also got drinks included with our evening meal which included water, red/white/rose wine, beer, branded pops. There were no complaints about the food. The restaurant was quite busy on a weekend but we never struggled to find a table. Pool - there are 5 pools. The one I went in was freezing cold which is exactly what I needed to cool off. The pool area was very quiet probably due to the time of year so there was plenty of available sunbeds. The pool bar was closed from the Monday for the winter and the pool area didn't open until 11am. There were quite a few flies hanging around, this is due to the local agriculture and a bit of fly spray gets rid of them. Gym - the gym is closed on a Sunday and Monday. It has various weights machines, free weights, cross trainer, treadmill and bikes and was adequate to do a workout. Local area - due to the time of year a lot of the local chiringuitos were closed and there wasn't much open however we had stayed in the area in July and it was a lot more lively. There is a nice walk along the promenade which is particularly beautiful to see the sunrise and sunset. We sat outside on the bar patio having a couple of drinks and watching the world go by. It is such a beautiful place. Overall, we really enjoyed our holiday here. We love the Spanish culture and do try (although we are terrible) to speak in Spanish. I would recommend this hotel to people wanting a complete chill out and escape from the city. It really is a beautiful place.

We went to Agua Dulce and stayed a couple of nights at hotel Portomagno. We were not disappointed. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Our sea view room was immaculately fitted. Breakfasts were a little disappointed, not the variety offered but the temperature at which it was served. Regardless of this we will return at some stage.

We booked as a last minute get away and should have researched the hotel more. I will start with the positives. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are a good size and the views are stunning unfortunately the negatives do let it down. The food is only Luke warm to the point some of it is not edible however they do supply a microwave for you to warm it up which is a little odd and until there was a large booking arrive of spanish tourists the choice was very limited. The pool is advertised as opening at 10am however it seems if your english it is 11am as we got down there at 11am and the spanish were very settled in. Being served at the bar is fine if there are no spanish around however if there are then you are invisible. We like to be in places were we can mix with locals but this truly is a hotel just for the Spanish. It is such a shame as it is a beautiful area. Not one we would visit again.

Nice hotel predominantly for Spanish guest, including the nightly entertainment and poolside games. Staff polite courteous and helpful. Food adequate with good selection and verity. Unusually late evening meal time start, 7:45 - 10:15, with all-inclusive bar finishing at 11:00pm. Pool area clean tidy and well run and pleasant bar staff at poolside bar. Housekeeping good with beds made every day and changed every other day along with towels. Pleasant balcony with sea view, comfortable beds, good bathroom equipment, bidet, hairdryer, triple mirrors shaving mirror and shaving point, bath and excellent shower with had rails. With two sets of lifts and with hotel facilities, ie restaurant and entertainment on the ground floor, and pool area on the forth floor it meant a series of lift journeys for guests unable to use the stairs. Jet2holidays shuttle coaches drop you off at the top of the hill on main road, although only short walk to reception at the bottom of the hill, it was a struggle to get back up, especially for elderly and disabled with luggage at the end of the holiday. Level promenade but very few shops and vendors, and beach was fine shale with good swimming.

We spent a very nice time at this place (August) and we really loved this location! We were also satisfied with the hotel. We had a room on the 13th floor with a very nice view at the beach (that is just in front of the hotel), we had double room with 2 extra beds for children - all of them big and very comfortable, the air-condition was working well, the room was cleaned every day properly. The food was excellent, everyday different fish or seafood variety, lots of vegetable, fruits etc. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Outside pools absolutely fantastic, bars as well, with lots of drinks and food to offer. Beach always clean, see perfectly warm and clear (no jellyfish at all). Perhaps one comments regarding the elevators-these are very old and very occupied, but if you are not in a hurry, it does not really matter.
