First of all: To stay here is quite a luxury. The biggest luxury of this hotel is the unique location and atmosphere. You can visit high-class hotels with perfect service all over the world but you do not have that many lighthouses turned into an accommodation like the Faro Capo Spartivento. We really enjoyed our stay, spending most of the...

With only 11 rooms (and only 4 in the main building), and with top quality chefs and staff, in a perfect secluded location atop the southernmost point of Sardinia, this is never going to be a cheap place to stay. However, it's so worth it, especially if you just want a couple of days' complete relaxation and rest. An hour's...

Stating at this hotel is a must. It is a national historic monument. An ochre coloured stone lighthouse built in 1856 and still functioning. It offers 360 degree views over the coastline and hinterland. Pick of the room is the Sea View Suite The hotel food is great. No need to venture out. Swim in the ocean beside the lighthouse.

My wife and I spent four nights in the Faro with an ocean view. This place is special - isolated with fantastic views and great walking trails. The hospitality is what really makes this place so special along with the unbelievable food. We stayed for four nights and really didn't want to leave. Will definitely be coming back.

This is our first time here & we definitely will return. Not inexpensive however worth every penny. The view, the location, the privacy--- FANTASTIC. Only 6 rooms I believe but great. Located in an old Lighthouse. Located on the southern part of Sardinia. It is about 45 minutes from the aeroport but go there. You do not want to miss...

You must not compare this place to a regular holiday all inclusive five star hotel! This place is all about inhaling the exceptional aura of this beautiful piece of earth. Imagine the conjunction of a lighthouse, cliffs, nature reserve, an infinity pool with an sea view, quietness and a service so individual and perfect. Only one highlight we experienced at...

We spent three nights at Spartivento in late September. It was magical. A truly luxury boutique hotel - more like a private residence -- set in a 19th century lighthouse, in a nature preserve, high on a cliff overlooking a turquoise sea. Intimate, romantic, evocative. It could have been a movie set. And the service was equal to the physical...

I can't recommend the Faro (Lighthouse) enough. It is difficult to explain how magnificent this place is, you cannot fault it starting from the location, staff, views... A truly unique place. We are loyal fans, we've stayed here few times in the last 3 years. During each visit we've felt like royalty - staff is incredibly well trained, dedicated and...

Getting to Faro Capo Spartivento is interesting unless your rental car happens to be a 4WD Hummer. There's a winding, rough dirt road through a national park. It's even more fun at night without any lights! But it gives you a sense of the remoteness of the location. Perched atop a cliff on the southernmost tip of Sardinia, this 200...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Capo Spartivento Lighthouse was built in 1856 by the Italian Navy. During the last war it was machine-gunned by American planes and, later on, it functioned as the lighthouse keepers residence until the late 80s. It has lit the way for seamen for over 150 years, slicing the darkness like a sword with its welcoming beam of light, is now fully restored and works as a luxury guesthouse without losing its original function. ... more   less
