I chose this hotel because i wanted something less expensive, close to the beach and with a sort of local feeling. The experience on the whole wasn't entirely bad, but the hotel has a few downs i think you should know from the start:

It really depends on what a ''short'' and a ''long'' walk is to you. For example, to me, 500-600 metres aren't a long walk to the beach, especially when you walk on the streets as you do in Pefkohori. I guess you know the hotel is on a hill, so it would be a difficult walk if there are people with some walking difficulties in your group. However, it takes you about 8 minutes to reach the centre of Pefkohori where you can find good beaches. There's also a shuttle bus which can drive you to another beach, further away than the beaches in the centre of Pefkohori. Anyways, you can choose one day to go to the close beaches and one day to the one where the shuttle will drive you to and see which one you like best. Once again, the beach isn't that far although some people make it look like it's kilometres away. It all depends on your opinion!
I hope this is helpful.
