We visited Tapalpa for two days on March 2015. We stayed at this beautiful hotel and it surpassed all our expectations. The decoration and the furniture in this place are all authentic, the owner, Sra. Irma, was the perfect host and made us feel right at home. It was great to come back to this hotel after a full day...

As others have reported, it took us a while to find this hotel. I called twice on my cell to get directions and the staff were really happy to see us finally drive up. Mexico in general, and Tapalpa in particular are not "handicapped friendly" and our friend traveling with us can only walk with a walker but our hotel...

Hotel La Casona is not in the center of town and might take you a while to find it, but the path leads to a lovely quaint, clean hotel. I was most impressed! I thought that our room was a great deal with the big delicious cooked to order breakfast. We had a kingsize bed, fireplace, shuttered full length windows...

We came to this hotel without reservations and were graciously shown every room available(about 6). The staff was friendly and accommodating during or stay of only one day. The location is a short walk to the plaza. Our room had a fireplace which we used in the evening, adding to the ambience of the hotel of classic Mexican design. The...

stayed one night and this place is great, rustic and mexican to a T. Just a few blocks from the historic center and needs some navigation to find, but worth it. The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel exudes mexican charm.

We went on a 3 day stay at this hotel, the staff is really nice and they are always available. Our arrival was on Friday and they inmmediately lead us to our room. The hotel is really nice, warm, it has a lot of ornaments and figurines along the way, it has an inner patio which is also really beautiful....

Clean rooms, friendly staff and great breakfast on the weekend. We stayed in room 21 which had a king sized bed. The room itself was nice and spacious. I find all the beds in Mexico hard and this was too. But, you overlook a pen which has a rooster and turkey which starts making noise well before sunrise. I would...

We just completed a wonderful stay at this hotel. Great room, outstanding breakfast and very friendly service. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Tapalpa is a great place to visit in Jalisco Mexico. Very nice main square and good restaurants.

Tapalpa is one of Mexico's "magic towns", an easy drive from Guadalajara, with magnificent views as the road winds up through the mountains. Hotel La Casona is extremely clean, the rooms are spacious with working fireplaces, and the breakfast offers an extensive choice of things to eat and drink. A great deal of time and care has gone into all...

This 24 room hotel is one of the largest in the town of Tapalpa. Although one of the trip advisor key words for this hotel is "Pacific Coast" it is at least three hours inland. it is about two and a half hours southwest of Guadalajara. The hotel is in a quiet (for Mexico!) neighborhood about 6 blocks from the...

“If you like morning light entering through windows, ask if they have a room with windows looking to the exterior of the hotel; because where I stayed there was only one window but it was towards the inner patio of the hotel, so there was no privacy.”

“Ask if there is going to be a gathering in the central courtyard area. If there isn't, then the rooms that face inside might be quieter as you won't have to deal with street noise. On the other hand, if there is a gathering, it may be quieter to face out on the street.”
