Easily five star if it were located in different area of town. The owner and staff are very gerious. English is spoken. The hotel/ B&B is first rate. The architecture is very interesting. The rooms well decorated and the bathrooms worked very well. There is a small added cost for dogs but they get a welcoming gift of threats and...

So glad we picked this hotel. The whole place is decorated in Mexican design with each room having a unique theme, ours was straw hats of all sizes. Lots of blankets which were needed as it was unseasonably cool, plus a fireplace all ready to be lit. The highlight was the breakfast! Traditional Mexican buffet with an array of choices....

The hotel is beautiful but I think we visited in the wrong month. We went in mid January and the rooms were freezing. There are open fireplaces but not much wood and who wants to be up all night putting wood on the fire? Could not get out of bed until at least 10am! Tried in vain to buy a...

Just loved this hotel. Clean, colorful, quiet and friendly. The staff couldn't be nicer, and the included breakfast was excellent! It's only a short walk into the plaza and also means you can check out the shops along the way. Will definitely be staying here again on the next visit to Tapalpa.

We stayed 2 nights at La Casona hotel in Tapalpa. A cozy hotel with beautiful palm wood ceilings, nicely decorated and full of small details. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the entire hotel is sparkling clean including the rooms. Our room was a fair size, the bed firm as is normal in Mexico, the shower had good...

This is lovely hotel with a traditional Mexican vibe. The rooms are all unique and tastefully decorated with local flavor. Many have fireplaces. The breakfast is wonderful. The staff are friendly and helpful. We have stayed at several hotels in Tapalpa, and the ambiance and decor here is by far our favorite. However, it's about a 5-10 minute walk to...

We arrived on a cold January night with no reservations. This old world hotel was awesome in every way. The fireplace with wood supplied was a welcome addition to the room providing both warmth and atmosphere for a quaint Mexican experience. The hotel itself was a colorful feast for the eyes with rooms on two floors that open to a...

We stayed in La Casona for one night and it was an overall pleasant experience. We stayed in Rm# 6, on the main level. The room was very clean and pleasant. There was handmade soap in the bathroom and a fireplace in the corner of the room with wood already laid for a fire, if we had wanted to light...

We stayed in this beautiful place for two nights. It is true is not in the downtown area, however, let's not get picky here, it's a two minute drive and a seven minute walk from the town's center. At our arrival we were greet by two of the hotel staff, one of the is probably the owner, an older gentleman...

“If you like morning light entering through windows, ask if they have a room with windows looking to the exterior of the hotel; because where I stayed there was only one window but it was towards the inner patio of the hotel, so there was no privacy.”

“Ask if there is going to be a gathering in the central courtyard area. If there isn't, then the rooms that face inside might be quieter as you won't have to deal with street noise. On the other hand, if there is a gathering, it may be quieter to face out on the street.”
