On balance, this was not a bad holiday at all:

Location: in the middle of the beautiful Italian nowhere, so no attractions worth visiting as a tourist. However, beautiful is the word. The location is excellent, set in pretty gardens, separated from the lovely, quiet, sandy beach (free loungers and parasols) by a shady woodland walk. And only 20 minutes from the airport!

Pool: great. Large and sloping entry. Perfect temperature.

Food: generally very good. Breakfasts a bit disappointing, but full buffet range for lunch and supper. Great salads, cheeses and fruit. Main courses not such great quality, but salads and pasta more than make up. Desserts OK. Nothing much between meals though - as many croissants and slices of cold pizza as you might fancy, but ice-creams etc all extra if not part of main meal. All-inclusive drinks limited in quantity (very small disposable cups) and quality. No diet drinks available at all. Lunch at the beach a great bonus. You won't...
