We arrived in Merida at 8:00 PM on United Airlines out of Houston. By the time we went through Immigration, got our luggage, went through customs and got our rental car it was after 9:30 PM. Very dark and unfamiliar road to Progreso so we didn't arrive at the Playa Linda Hotel until 10:30 PM. I was concerned since the...

We stayed in Playa Linda for 5 days and it was just great. English speaking staff at reception were helpful. A young fellow at the front desk grabbed my hockey bag, tossed it on his shoulder and was at the room before me. We had a "street view" room, which means you can see the ocean, the Malecon and sit...

The Hotel Playa Linda is located right on the "Malecón", cross the road and you are on the beach. Around the hotel are plenty of restaurants (see my other reviews of Progreso) and shops. The area is safe, police patrol the roads regularly. SERVICE: - English skills of staff very poor, I saw a few guests struggle their way through...

We stayed at the Playa Linda Hotel for two nights this past weekend. I read another review of the Playa Linda that said they had no elevators and people had to lug their own bags up the stairs (up to 4 flights). I contacted the hotel and asked to please get on the first floor since health problems would hinder...

Very clean, nice view, an easy walk to everything in progreso. The microwave and fridge were an unexpected bonus and don't for get the view from the rooftop deck. You can't beat the price per night!! Would stay again. Although there is no elevator or pool the price is reflective of this. The beach is 25 meters away no pool...

The hotel was close to the beach. This place was like mini Copacabana, long beach, Malecon and on the other side restaurants and hotels. At the hotel the receptionists were very friendly and helpfull and cleaners were also nice. If you know basic spanish you manage well like we did. We did have superior room, the bedroom was separated from...

My reasoning behind "poor" and not "terrible" is at the bottom. Now I can't speak for the other rooms in the place but we paid for an "Executive Double Room"... When I read that it conjures up a vision of a room with at least a queen (most likely at king) bed, perhaps a desk, certainly a view, and maybe...

Very clean and comfortable rooms some larger than others with more amenities. Staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Some speak better English than others but strive to accommodate. Overall we are enjoying our stay.

We originally planned to spend 2 nights here but loved the area so much we're extending our stay ax few days. The room here is perfect. It's clean, air conditioned and right on the street across from the beach. We're in a room on the back, but the larger rooms have nice kitchens. Prices are quite reasonable.

Playa Linda is conveniently located by the Malicon and close to the all tourist attractions. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We sorted our questions in fairly good Spanglish (they are actually stronger in English than I am in Spanish). Our room was clean and serviceable. It was great for a couple of nights.
