Based on my experience, I cannot give a positive feedback. I had a room on the external accommodation (similar bungalow). I suggest to avoid this type of room. The room has a poor appearance, very economic furniture, bathroom very little. It is not adequate to the classification of the structure and the cost of the room.
Great base and function room for a family wedding. Very helpful staff. Bed Rooms a bit dated - but added to character/ charm. Breakfast very high standard and good variety / plenty options. I hope to return and explore the beautiful area around the hotel.
The hotel is an old mansion with a modern wing and multiple houses. Good breakfast and lunch/dinner. Spacy meeting rooms with competent staff. Huge rooms with every amenity. A bit wanting with the heating-we were quite cold in the huge reception/ lounge area. Friendly reception and dining room staff. Not excellent but ok place.
Stayed five nights here. Stunning part of the world. Vert quiet town. Right across from a shopping mall. Room was comfortable with large bathroom, however mine backed onto a large car park which was where the younger ones would gather at night to rev their engines and do burnouts. There was no air conditioning or fan, which when I was there I desperately needed. Food was ok as was service, although all staff were very nice and helpful. Orkanger is small town but this hotel is perfect for exploring. Ample free parking.
Bårdshaug Herregård - is one of the Historic hotels, members of “Historic hotels of Norway”. These hotels has strict requirements regarding historic relation, local connection and of course a historic relation to the building and/or place. And after staying here for a few years whenever I visit this city, I’m still dazzled of how simple you can present luxury! The rooms are quite good, it’s not a five star hotel, but it’s absolutely a five star experience! And the beds are wonderful to sleep in! Amenities are complementary, and towels are fluffy and clean - so absolutely a really nice experience. The reason why it’s not a 5/5 is because it is an historic building, so it’s not new and practical. But the thing that really lifts this hotel is the experience you’ll receive in the restaurant! It doesn’t really matter if your there alone or if it’s full, the food is absolutely amazing! You’ll be treated as a king, and served a meal suited for a king where local cuisine is the key. Experienced waiters will help you put together your food experience in the authentic estate-like restaurant. And the best is, the price level is awesome! This is a hidden pearl that deserves to be experienced by everyone!…
Rooms are basic, but nice and clean. Nice bathrooms. Very friendly staff and good food. Old interesting buildings with history. Gives you a good homely feeling. Do not hesitate to go here. I'll be back for sure.
Very good place. The place was superb and the staff is very welcoming and nice.It was also great to learn about the history of the hotel apart from the excellent service.Breakfast is awesome! Definitely worth the stay! Cheers.
There are many accommodation options here,we upgraded to the Kings Room in the Manor House. Some might call it old fashioned, we would call it very comfortable and atmospheric and big. Nice balcony, an original bath that you can nearly swim in, all in all a lovely experience. The food in the restaurant was from a short menu. The cream of mussel soup was excellent.
My expectations were high based on the hotel´s own marketing profile as an old fashionable manor house. But I was very disappointed. It turned out to be an outdated average standard hotel. The view from my room was absolutely nothing and I saw straight into a dark roof and the walls on the oposite side of the building and it was almost claustrophobic. The bathroom was rather old and the mirror had black spots all over so it was difficult to use it for shaving. The toilet was situated so close to the sink it was difficult to fit in. It was also a lot of nice from the hallway from guest talking outside so it was not very soundproof. Breakfast was average, Ok but nothing extra. I travelled in business and I guess they see that I have a Company profile. What I can not understand, is that they give business customers, paying full price, this kind of room with absolutely no view. This was my first time in Orkdal, next time, I will probably stay the night over in Trondheim. Only a 30 minutes drive and more to choose among. It´s rather a pricy hotel, and it was not worth it, the way I see it.…
The rooms were nice but modern since we stayed in the new part. The service both at the front desk and the restaurant was knowledgeable and very nice. The Restaurant had excellent dinner and breakfast was also very good. If it had been possible to live in the old part I had checked it before I ordered, since the rooms in the new were boring
