We often drop in for lunch and are never disappointed. The food is of a high standard and the service always comes with a smile. Everyone is welcome here, including your dog and what better place to stop off for a rest after a good walk in the country.

Comfortable interesting venue we went to for lunch. Good varied menu. Nice staff. Only drawback for me was the more people who came in for lunch the more difficulty I had having conversation with my friends as the acoustics were not great. However - overcome this (or buy a hearing aid) and all will be well. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit...

A friend and I had lunch here on a beautiful bright winter's day. It was warm and comfortable with a log fire and a traditional menu. I had the local pheasant stuffed with mushrooms, from the special's board. Served with mashed potato and cabbage it was a delicious and comforting meal. My friend had the rabbit pie (also locally sourced)....

The Giants Rest at Wilmington is one of our favourite places for lunch. This time of year there is a log fire, which adds to the warm comfortable atmosphere. A friendly welcome and good food. Be warned the portions are a good size so choose wisely. The starters/light bites are ideal for a light lunch ( the fish soup and...

Pros: good food, dog friendly, excellent atmosphere Cons: a bit pricey, "specials" menu doesn't seem to change much We seem to have been here a lot in recent months, and it is very much the dog's favourite pub because the staff make a big fuss of him (they've seen him grow from puppy into proper country hound). The food is...

All had food from the specials board. I had the duck, asked if it had vegetables with it was told it did. One tiny piece of broccoli and a cup of rice. The duck had very little meat on it. The salmon though well cooked did not have enough sauce. Deserts . were the best thing of the meal. The...

We met friends at this very pleasant welcoming little pub. We all had two courses and in the main were very pleased with what we were served. The baked Camembert and the Seafood Cassolette, all served with fresh crusty bread and a very small portion of butter, were all superb hot and very tasty. To Follow we had Wild Duck,...

What a lovely pub. Great food perfect after a lovely walk on South downs. Nice atmosphere and they welcome dogs. Perfect! Good for families too. Limited parking though. There are lots of good walks nearby. We went at lunch time.

The Giants Rest! The hidden jewel of Sussex... An absolute must visit venue that plays a perfect role in being a warm/welcoming pub to enjoy a relaxing drink, equally as well as it plays an excellent restaurant with a spectacular well thought out Menu! After having the pleasure of meeting the friendly, kind, thoughtful staff & locals of the Giants Rest I...

I've been coming here with my family for over 10 years & the food was always good & atmosphere welcoming & games on the tables so good overall country pub; especially after a hike in stunning surrounding countryside. Unfortunately, the friendly man behind the bar who treated everyone like an old friend has been replaced by a young, stroppy girl...
