We loved our stay at Francesco and his sister Chiara's place. The house is awesome: charming, full of the familly's history - you can buy the book of the story of "lo, Rompicollo" signed by Rosanna Bonelli herself - with a beautifull view over Siena's countryside and well located right in the middle of the Chianti classico region. Francesco and...

When we first were trying to arrive, we got lost in the hills of Chianti/ Tuscany. However, once we arrived, we were met by Francesco with a contagious energy who informed us we should have used his directions instead of google maps- oops! This is an old castle/ mansion about 15 minutes from Siena in a small village. His entire...

Astreo was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy and we discovered it almost by accident. The villa has been in the Bonelli family for generations and is now the home of Senora Rosanna Bonelli – the only woman to have ridden in the Siena Palio in its 400-year history! Senora Bonelli (La Rompicollo) rode in the palio...

Wonderful place full of ancient charm! Real escape from modern hotels. Surrounded by beautiful nature, but very close to Siena. We took it as our base for our Tuscany trip, its location is perfect to visit the whole province. The host Francesco is very nice and very helpful, the places and villages to visit and restaurants to taste he recommended...

We visited Villa Astreo 4 years ago, stayed in the pink room, and this is one of the experiences that makes me want to go back to Italy over and over again.. Beautiful scenery, awesome villa and great owners.. One down side is after watching past palio videos and drinking grapa with the owner, I now have to have grapa...

A unique and a charmiing villa with amazing views and a tremendous amount of history. Hosts Francesco, sister Chiana and mother Rosana Bonelli are very warm, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was below average compared to the other places we stayed. rooms are clean. Our stay and experience was marred by the room we were allocated. We booked for three nights &...

We arrived as the sun set over Tuscany and were greeted warmly by Chiana (daughter) and Rosana (mother) Bonelli. After unloading in the tower bedroom and admiring the view of the lights from Siena and San Giminagno from the bedroom window, we were walked by Chiana into the tiny hill town to point out one of its two restaurants. Expecting...

We had a great stay at Villa Astreo in Vagliagli, Tuscany! The villa's owners are very special people and will make you feel very much at home! The only thing that could have improved was the weather during our stay, which was on and off drizzling. The villa itself is in a charming little town called Vagliagli in the Chianti...

“We stayed in the Tower Room and I think this had the best view in the entire Villa! You can see Siena, Montereggio and San Gimignano!”

“Tower room is charming with beautiful view, but private bathroom outside of the room. We didn't mind, can't expect all modern comfort in a building like this.”

“I had to give 5 stars for all options even though they don't have room service or fitness service, but who cares about that when you are in Tuscany?? Definitely have google maps to get around and be ready to eat at just one of the three restaurants the town has to offer (which alternated the evenings they are open, but simply had the most amazing food)”
