We stayed at the hotel from 28th August - 11th August. Everything about our stay was great! The hotel was very clean, the buffet breakfast was excellent, it was in a great location and all of the staff were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend the hotel and would like to return at some point.
Was at The Horizon Blu Sept 2022. Nice clean hotel rooms are adequate and cleaned daily. We used the spa and was very pleased with. While we were there the breakfast was buffet but lunch time and evening meal was table service. The food was good and very large portions my husband and I shared rather than had a dish each but the menu never changes it stays the same and gets boring they need to sort out menus and we were also let down on one night with how long it took to get the food to the table unfortunately we had to complain something we rarely do. Once they get this sorted then top marks as we had hot sunny weather could always get a sun bed and the staff were always friendly and helpful
This is what I would judge as a very good 4+ star hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, sorting out a problem with a very noisy bunch of British tourists next door, by moving us up the corridor to a more peaceful part with an even better view. The exceptionally helpful Keriakos & Thanos were a shining example of the highest customer service values. Many thanks to these two reception managers. Other exceptional points here are the beautiful dark wood panelled rooms, the semi-private pools, the aspect, cleanliness, being at the foot of a gloriously 4000ft mountain, the seafront location, and the very convenient proximity to the centre of beautiful, vibrant Kalamata, where the food is not only very reasonably priced, but is of a generally high quality. Plus, the easy access to some of Europe’s most supremely beautiful and spectacular scenery. My only issue is that, as is usual in so many hotels, the hot breakfast elements are stone cold or vaguely warm. But this can be easily corrected. The closure of the main restaurant was regrettable, in September. Certainly, closing it later in September would make more sense, especially when JET2, for example are trying to increase passenger numbers during September. Something that the management need to consider. Finally, Kalamata is an exceptional base to visit the largest concentration of ancient sites in the world. You are spoilt for choice, not just for historic sites, but the number of beaches, mountain trips, towns and panoramic views to be enjoyed. Additionally, you can even go skiing during the winter months. Definitely Europe’s most unsung yet most interesting area of natural, organic beauty. Highly recommended.…
My wife and I stayed at Horizon Blu in late August and were joined half way though our stay by our 20 year old daughter who had been working Gytheio. We stayed in a room with private plunge pool which overlooked the main pool. The rooms were spacious and very nicely decorated. The hotel is well located, with the beach on the opposite side of a busy road. The beach is ok but we spent most of the days near the pool area which is aesthetically pleasing with plenty of space. There were more than enough sun beds available and the pool was never busy. There was also a good quality gym and sauna available at extra cost. Breakfast was provided and was very nice with a good selection. Unfortunately the main restaurant which adjoins the building was closed at the time of our stay. However food was available throughout the day and night via the pool bar. Service was good with extremely pleasant and helpful staff. The food was also very good with an exceptional seafood pasta that was better than any other we tried during our stay. With the main restaurant being closed the food menu did become a bit samey so we ended up eating out elsewhere. In summary a very nice hotel in a good location. Highly recommended if your visiting Kalamata.…
Nice hotel close to beach (across busy road!) but don't go here expecting it to be Greek as you could have been anywhere we caught bus and went to old part and also down to marina but didn't feel greek and yes we go to Greece all the time for our holidays having said that there were some nice restaurants about .
Nice rooms kept very clean. Great breakfast. Excellent staff. Entertainment not much to write home about. Bit noisy at times but good location for bars and Restaurants. Swimming pool a good size but cold and in shade for most of the morning Usual sun bed war's but we managed OK. Would go again but earlier in the year
Nice architecture, the hotel is well integrated into the landscape. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The surround is very noisy but sound proofing is perfect. The bathroom is big with both tube and shower, but the layout is inconvenient. Towels are bright new, clean and soft, but produce a lot of lint. The beach is just across the street. Wi-Fi covers not only the hotel, but the beach as well. The breakfast is good and various, if you want you can try to make Greek coffee yourself, but the staff should have been a bit more trained.
Wonderful Hotel, Fabulous People , Brilliant Weather BUT !!! this is the quietest hotel we’ve ever stayed at error in brochure distance from Kalamata double what it says , there’s no entertainment available we where Half Board the food on offer was very good BUT very limited for half board only 4 that’s right 4 Main courses on an 11 day holiday that’s not good, no Greek food Chicken and chips, Pizza plenty off it the fruit salad was exceptional. Overall enjoyed but would no go back not our type of holiday.
Best weekend I've had in a while. The room had an amazing view and was in perfect condition. All the hotel staff were kind, polite and with a smile on their faces. The highlight of my stay has to be the food from the pool bar and the hotel's restaurant (NAVA). Exceptional tastes and flavors from a delicate variety of local products and ingredients. 5 ⭐ experience and worth every penny!
We stayed at horizon blu in one of their pool rooms in June for a week. We managed to get a half board deal which included breakfast and dinner. The room was fantastic, spacious, nice bathroom and pool is such a nice addition to have. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The guy at reception even booked a doctors appointment for me! The restaurant food was ok but the menu stays the same so we went out to explore the local restaurants a few nights. Spa and massages are great and the beach literally across the road is perfect. A lovely stay and really can’t fault it at all. Would stay here again and again. Wish I was still there!
