The downtown section of Kalamata is interesting, with many shops, restaurants, and parks, and crowded with people on weekend nights. But we didn't have a car, so could not easily get there; this hotel is several miles away. The room was large, as was the bathroom. There was

Business trip for just one night. But that doesn't mean you can't get to really enjoy your stay there. Quite new spacious room with comfy bed. Relaxing views, abundant pool areas, friendly staff and an amazing breakfast that I never expected. Overall a great choice.

Horizon blu in Kalamata is a very good hotel with really spacious and clean rooms, very big verandas overlooking the large swimming pool and the sea. The staff needs a lot of training...but they are very polite and helpful. Panagiotis is the best employee I have encountered. He

It's a bit of an odd one this. Nice hotel - just not great! The bar area is located opposite the reception desk in .... the reception area - so not a particularly inviting or restful place for a drink in the evenings. Breakfast is ok but they do not seem to have mastered hot tea

There is either the local bus, the stop is right next to the big bus terminal (cost 1,40 per person) that leaves you in front of the hotel on the beach promenade, or the easiest way is a taxi directly to the hotel entrance (cost 5-6 euros total).

Which is the easiest way to get to the Hotel from Athens Airport? Thanks
Hi Rosalie, thank you for asking. There are various ways to come to the hotel from Athens: 1. Χ93 bus from the Airport to Athens Central Bus terminal and then Bus to Kalamata (almost every hour, duration from 3 to 4 hours depending on the route, preferably the Express Line). For Information and timetable please google "ktelmessinias" as we cannot post the link directly here. Then, from Kalamata Bus Terminal it is only a 5 minutes taxi ride to the hotel. 2. Rental Car from the Airport. 240kms (2.45 hrs) drive via Athens-Kalamata highway. 3. Private transfer (taxi or mini-bus) please contact hotel reception for costs and availability. See you soon!
