This was our first visit to Kalamata. We had a few rooms booked, as we were in town for a family wedding. The area of Avia is very tranquil, with a handful of tavernas and a mini market. The apartments are well equipped and have everything you need for your stay, and the sea views are stunning. There is also a private beach. Penelope and her staff are very friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely stay here again, though next time we will hire a car as a little way out.
This hotel was the perfect end to our holiday in Greece. The staff were exceptionally friendly, they were all very attentive and your every need has been considered. The hotel is very clean and nicely situated for a stroll into the area of Kalamata and a choice of excellent tavernas within walking distance. It is also ideal for exploring the Mani peninsula. The wi-fi coverage is very good and we really loved the small beach that was in front of the hotel! We will definitely be back and can’t wait!!
We hired a car a travelled throughout the peleponnese and every time we drove back into the Aviva region we felt like it was home. This apartment is set in a fantastic location with the best views across the messinian gulf. The sunsets are truly stunning. The rooms are quite basic but spacious and homely. Beds are quite firm but very comfortable. The appliances available all work well and make cooking easy. The beach attached to the apartment is a bit special, it is pebbled but all sand about 4 meters in. Amazing for snorkelling due to the jetties providing a perfect home for many fish. Penelope and her family are wonderful and will help you with anything. As a bonus the taverna next to the apartment serves beautiful traditional food. Quite depressed we are home and cannot wait to return!…
Worth the drive (and possible a bit of searching) to stay at this hilltop spread about five minutes outside of the city. It's so dark there at night, you'll see a star-filled sky show from the balcony. We enjoyed two fresh seafood meals nearby at small tavernas (one just a short walk) and bought groceries a short drive away without going back into Kalamata. Terrace with table, chairs and drying rack for swimwear is a nice amenity, as is the kitchen with coffeemaker, full refrigerator, toaster, sink, dishes, glasses, utensils and a hot plate. (No stove or oven.) We also enjoyed beachside lounging and drink service at one of the many clubs along Kalamata's bayside drive, just five minutes or so down the hill.
Incredible place to stay in Messinia, I honestly loved this place. The location is unbeatable, with the beach with crystal clear waters just 2 min away. The rooms are spacious with all the comodities. And best of all, the owner Penelope and all the staff are amazingly helpful and nice and go the extra mile to see you happy. I can't recommend this place enough!
A nice hotel, with no facilities, but a great location, with very nice view from the rooms. Close to restaurant and small super market. we had a rental car so it was easy to come around. Must advise a trip to Pilos and the beaches north of that, it is very nice. The water was very clear and just down stairs is a pepple beach. I do not think the hotel has evolved in 30 years, but nice and clean.
Overall, we were satisfied with our stay. The room was very big, well-equipped and agreeable. The balcony was big with a very nice view, and the sea just below the steps. The owner is very friendly and all in all, it was a good stay.
The View is Breathtaking, we loved every thing about it.Simply the best of its type, Apollon offers comfortable, clean, affordable and spacious accommodation in a fantastic natural environment combining a nice garden and an unbeatable breathtaking sea view! You can reach the beach directly from the hotel through the stairs. Parking is free of charge on a first-in first-served basis. WiFi is free of charge and works quite well. If you really need a good connection at a specific moment, then you can always go nearby the reception area. The owner, is so nice she cant do enough for you. We loved our stay and cant wait to come back. Keep up the good work. I wish more people could learn from the owner its hospitality at its best. Thank you for taking care of us.
the lady who operates the site is very friendly and makes much as she can in order to our stay pleasant. but the building is old and must be renovated. the view from the balcony is magnificent. late october we were the only guests in the site, and the reason is clear: this place is for summer.
We had a hard time finding this place because we went by the map on trip advisor which was completely wrong!! It is in fact 11km out of town. Very cheap, very basic and very clean. Only some linen provided so we were lucky we brought sleeping bags with us. Kettles and cooktops in the rooms and even a little tea pot ❤️. The staff are absolutely lovely and te beach is literally down the steps (pebbled beach), a short walk down the road is a nice bar/restaurant where you can have cocktails under tiwi shelters and enjoy relaxing music and a mini mart next door. Free wifi is great. Unfortunately for us there was a group of school kids staying there at the same time as us so lots of noise in an otherwise tranquil place. This place has a real homey feel to it and at the price you pay you can hardly flaw it. …
