On Saturday 25 October I visited Chac Lan Restaurant for a meal with my French Guests. I told the waiter who received us that we had had a bad experience there recently with cold food . Would he please ensure we had a good meal? A big mistake since the waiter was bad tempered and our food was cold and...

As I'm currently renting a house at the Raquet Club, I decided to have massage at the Monte Coxala Spa. It's a bit pricier than other massage venues in the area, but reasonable and convenient enough for me to check it out. Upon entering, I was immediately captivated by the spectacular panorama of Lake Chapala and the surrounding mountains. From...

First the positive stuff. An amazing view, with very good food in both Las Caballerizas, and the main Restaurant. Lousy service, no phone on the room. With strict rules, so watch out if you come with kids or people that can not walk for themselves. I had to beg them to let me park for a moment near the restaurant,...

I visited the restaurant in the Grand Palapa - upper floor for a beautiful view of the lake. It was raining so we could only partially see the lake. Everything was green, perfect weather and we had an amazing time. I ordered salmon - delicious! I really recommend this place for everyone, specially couples, as it is very romantic. The...

Beautiful place, located on a hill next to Chapala Lake in Jalisco. Beautiful but a terrible experience. Starting with reception. Rules are so stringent you feel as if scolded as a little boy/girl. The place has no phone or means of communicating with personnel, but everything has to be arranged with them. Service is rude, to say the least, except...

The property and view are fantastic. The service was ridiculous. We only ordered drinks as we had heard the food was not good. Drinks took over 20 minutes and no other people there. Only about 20 staff??? WTH? Funny part was when we called for our car (have to valet for 30 pesos) the guy bringing the car down -we...

We took some friends there who had only been in town a week. The views and grounds are incredible and you start thinking that your entire experience here will be first class. Big mistake. We ordered drinks and when my margarita arrived I tasted it could tell there was very little tequila in it. Also, it was the smallest margarita...

Stunning venue, absolute perfection in architecture and style. We were recently at the restaurant for a friends birthday celebration, 20 guests. We were disappointed by the service, the help is nice enough, but they don't work as a team and fail to have a leader. Waiters in conversation and horse play as service is lacking. Our meals were fairly good...

“No phone, no TV, no Room Service, no environmental lighting in public places, , no A/C, no fan. Nice decor, although some rooms with a rather weird distribution, such as bathroom being all open to the room, with no partitions whatsoever for shower, WC and washbasin. Beautiful sleeping setup. Bug ridden, especially mosquitoes. Goes with the territory! And everywhere around the premises you are reminded you are on your own risk-wise. They don't feel responsible for whatever happens to you in their premises, apparently!”
