There have been varying reports about this hotel but we would have no complaints and loved the trip. The hotel is not a luxury establishment and anyone expecting this will be disappointed. However, it is far better than many ski hotels in France and Austria and the staff were delightful, helpful and friendly.
The position is ideal and provides easy access to the toboggan slopes for the children. If you are not visiting to see Santa, then access to the ski area and all other facilities is ideal. Central location and easy access to shops is great.
Food at breakfast and dinner was great for this type of holiday and despite some concerns expressed previously on review sites, there was a plentiful supply. Our children never had a problem with quantity or type and want to go back for the food!!
My one (minor) gripe would be that we had a very uncomfortable sofa bed in our room (all four of us in one room so we gave the twin beds to the children) which could do with a more supportive mattress.
We would return here for a holiday so don't be put off by people who expect five star luxury complaining.

We travelled as a family of 6 with our 2 granddaughters to experience Lapland and visit Santa. As we arrived with Tui we were taken to a welcome meeting before being taken to our hotel, this basically introduced us to the in resort reps and explained the add on excursions available, we were all quite tired and hungry at this point and really just wanted to get to our rooms and the girls just wanted to play in the snow. We then got back on our bus to drive across the road to our hotel and given our room keys, there was a bit of a mix up at this point as we were only given 1 room key and we had 2 rooms booked, after a bit of confusion this was eventually sorted out. On entering our apartment we were very happy with the rooms, after reading previous reviews about them being outdated we weren’t sure what to expect. We felt the hotel/rooms were in keeping with the location, very clean and well equipped, all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. There was a good selection of food available at both breakfast and evening meals, the only meal we had an issue with was the gala dinner, nothing to do with the food but the fact that it didn’t start till 7.30, there were too many people trying to be seated at the same time, different families were being sat together and no Christmas music playing, it felt like you were queuing up for a school dinner! Apart from that we had an amazing time, the taster sessions day was great, we booked a husky safari with husky and co, this was great, the trip to see Santa was magical, the girls loved sledging everywhere, the elves were great from start to finish entertaining the girls - Cookie and Lalala were favourites! The location was stunning and we got to see the northern lights! An amazing holiday and would definitely recommend both the location and the hotel.

Thank you for your feedback. It's very nice that you enjoyed your stay here and almost everything went well. Unfortunately it's not always possible to seat only the same families in the same table. Of course we try to do our best, but it depends on the number of persons and table size as well. This is the high season and the groups are big. We are very sorry if you had to queue too long. We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year! Hope to see you again some day.

Hotel was clean and had good facilities. The staff were friendly and had very good English. Souvenirs were a little bit pricy and so were the drinks/snacks available. The buffet breakfast was lovely but the evening meal needed more selection for vegetarians, other than salad, chips, cheese.
Tea and coffee making facility were poor to be honest. They only provide powdered milk which is revolting and does not colour the tea or coffee! We asked at the bar for some fresh milk, we had to pay €3 for a small jug! Also, their idea of herbal tea is black tea with flavouring and my wife prefers proper fruit tea. Furthermore, I had the usual towel-gate issue! No towel big enough to go around a adult human!! Beach towel or bath sheet size please…not a tiny hand towel!!

Warning Please read everyone, Do not go to thos hotel it's the worst place we have ever stayed. The rooms are awful very basic and dirty. The food was really poor and and very bland and theg have proper play facilities like they advertise. We booked our dream lapland oliday experience for 3 days with tui holidays and paid over 1000 pound a day in total only to be left completely devastated by the whole holiday. Do not book lapland saariselka with Tui. We have complained to tui after our stay only to be told they are sorry we had been left disappointed, please consider where your going and whome your booking your lapland experience with

Unless you enjoy sleeping on a sofa bed with your legs higher than your head and springs poking in your back, I would absolutely avoid! Paid for a 2 bedroom apartment for far too much money and got a bedroom we couldn’t close the door on as obviously filled with the furniture that normally is in the sitting room and a sofa bed that had seen better days.

We spoke to the Receptionist (Kristina) who told us she had 2 adjoining rooms which would have been acceptable to us and needed to speak to her manager and to come back. We went back only to be told the rooms were suddenly unavailable (but available on various websites).

The decor is in need of refreshing with stained carpets and ripped wall paper with a big pile of crisps on the floor by the lifts, which stayed there for many hours. It’s not exactly what the advertising presents. The buffet food was luke warm, bread was stale and mostly unappealing. Very disappointing family Christmas accommodation which we had planned for many months ago.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. Sorry to hear about this. There is some miscommunication about the name of the apartment. In two-room -apartment there is only one bedroom + livingroom and a kitchenette, but not two bedrooms. Unfortunately there was no family room available for the whole durations of your stay, only first night, so it was not possible to change to family room. We have arranged maintenanceman to check the apartment. Currently we are waiting news about hotel renovation.

Booked for Santa experience. Massively disappointed with hotel stupidly thought it would be special & to a standard you would expect with the money paid. Booked with santas Lapland.
Hotel very run down, food…… ok. Gluten free option was good.
Rooms very basic. Paper cups for tea & coffee chucked on the side (no milk)

Went through Santa Claus trips for a 3 days on a Santa’s Lapland trip. The hotel is in a great location near the shop to collect your snow stuff. Staff were great but the food and gala dinner is dreadful!!!!!

We were promised a wonderful gala dinner and entertainment but it was a buffet with food from Iceland (no proper turkey) cheap crackers from Poundland and the only entertainment was an 18 year girl new to the job (yes this was announced over the microphone) and she took the kids in a room next door to sing songs and let them run round. Where was the party or disco or decent entertainment?!

We had an apartment at the back which for us was ok. The sofa bed was poor but we didn’t spend much time here.

I wouldn’t stay at this hotel or go via Santa Claus trips as it is not the once in a lifetime trip you’re promised. Such a disappointment after spending thousands of pounds.

I stayed for two nights in the Lapland Hotels Riekonlinna in the beginning of July.

The room was quite large but a bit outdated (as was the whole hotel) but it was comfy and clean. The wifi worked OK but I was quite surprised to find out that only few Finnish TV-channels was found.
The sun shines 24/7 during summer time in Lapland proper black-out curtains would have been great to have.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great. And the breakfast buffet was plentiful.
It was fun to see reindeer wander around the hotel grounds.

Lovely hotel, a little dated but suited our needs perfectly.

Breakfast was fine and spread over 3 hours so it was never too busy.

The evening meal was fine most nights, we had our Xmas lunch here and there were a few other neighbouring hotels joint for the Gala dinner (TUI) it was extremely busy and I think staggered times would have been better.

The alcohol is really expensive costing 34Euro’s a bottle. We brought 2 boxes of wine in our suitcase which was perfect for a glass or 2 after a busy day in the snow.

The only downside was the lack of a shop selling snacks/drinks. They have a small selection of drinks and chocolate. The hotel down the road has a fully stocked shop selling crisps, sweet items and beer/cider.

Thank you for the feedback! Nice to hear you enjoyed your stay. At the hotel reception we have a small selection of snacks and drinks. There is also a grocery store in the village. The old one burned to the ground last spring and it was located by the main road, quite easy to find. At the moment (before rebuilding) the shop is located in the Siula building that is close to the gas station and more near to the big road. You are welcome to visit us again!

The temperature is low, and it is very cold. However, the services in the hotel were excellent, warm, and made us felt so welcomed. The buffet dinner and breakfast spread were decent. Everything seems nice and cozy in such cold weather! Staff are friendly, polite, and professional. They are always ready to extend a warm helping hand. Impressive! Depending on your room type, I've got mine rather small but comfortable enough for a good night sleep. The room key is very unique. In all, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a hotel with a reasonable price range but filled with abundant excellent service.
