We had a delightful Easter vacation staying in this beautiful place in a spacious room with sauna. The location of the hotel is perfect for those seeking a quiet stay in the middle of nowhere with an easy access to x-country tracks; other acitivities such as snowmobile riding, snowshoeing etc are all available through the hotel as well. The hotel staff was really friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant every evening, and the food was consistently very good. Overall, a very positive first time in the Wilderness hotels, but not the last - we will certainly return.
Was pleasant stay here. Cottages, food and staff was great. Location is next to cross country skiing and snowmobile tracks. Perfect place to enjoy nature and perhaps Northern lights. There is something to do for everyone and every season.
Rather large holiday village about 10 miles from Saariselkä near Kiilapää (you can easily cross-country ski or even walk there). There are aurora cabins, shared cottages and single use cottages there. We had a log cabin, which looks great outside and is nice inside also. Log cabins are located in two rows and only ones at the end of each row has unrestricted view in two directions (front and right). Those in the front row have view to river but some cabins in the rear row can only see other cabins. There is no wifi in the log cabin and no tv set. Unfortunately our room was filthy when we arrived. Corridor carpet and couch was full of human and animal hair. We cleaned it ourself by vacuum cleaner in the cabin. No reading light. Bathroom was spacious but here was separate, shower cubicle, which is quite tight. Good sauna. Nice fireplace.…
We stayed at a panorama log cabin, which was very clean, good looking, well-equipped and the log walls are perfect agains bad weather. The huge windows offer a great view to the sky and nature in general. The location is far away from the village, which makes it ideal for seeing the northern lights. During our 4 nights stay, we were able to see the lights very clear on the sky every night. The only downside I could find is that the dinner menu is quite limited, but they’re very well made.
We staid in two places in Saariselkä: Aurora cabin in here and 60 m2 apartment of Holiday Club. I don't regret staying one night in Aurora cabin: we saw 9 - 10 flying stars, but the other place was much cheaper and much better except for the ceiling.
