What a great accommodation. We stayed in a log-cabin for a week in early January 2025 in which it lacks nothing. We thought there was a problem with the sauna and reported it to reception by email. The same Sunday evening, an explanation and manual followed. What a service...!!! And nothing else to complain about. You will make the most beautiful walks from your accommodation with or without snowshoes or cross-country skiing. And for booked safaris you will be picked up just outside the reception. The buffet restaurant may lack some atmosphere but offers a fine breakfast buffet. Restaurant Kammi offers a small but varied menu and certainly has a romantic ambiance. The ski bus will take you to Saariselka in the morning if desired. In the late afternoon you can take it back to Kiiloopa and all for 6,00 euros (day ticket). For do price you can move every half hour within Saariselka, for example to the Ski center, where you can also sledge down the mountain and the shopping center with its large K-Market. There is everything for sale that the small shop on the Fell Centrum cannot offer. But for some small daily business it is nevertheless useful. More positive aspects of the Fell Centre Kiiloopa....? The tranquility, that wonderful relaxed environment that you can hardly find in daily life in your own environment. What a fantastic relief. Dank Fell Centre. Thank friendly lady from reception. Thank you Lapland...

A pleasant and relaxing experience, highly recommended! It is advisable to book tickets in advance, as the sessions were popular (max 25 persons at time). The tickets were 18 euros for person.
The smoke sauna has a relaxed atmosphere, there is also good wooden peflettis to use (placemats). And I believe you can bring your own drinks too. 🤭 The women's changing room had only about ten lockable boxes, which no one seemed to use. There is also two showers and wc.
Kiilopuro river has a comfortable sandy bottom and it was safe for first-timers like us. We will definitely come back.

The property is located right at the gateway to Urho Kekkonen National Park and offers various types of accommodation: Wooden chalet, hotel room, hostel, caravan park and tents. We stayed in the log cabin and our chalet was spacious, functional with a wood stove, kitchen and the inevitable sauna. For those who want there is also the buffet restaurant operating for breakfast, lunch and dinner (with a very good quality). There are many activities that can be done depending on the season: on site there is an equipment rental center that knows how to give you all the necessary information (we had the experience with fat biking and it was great fun). Many paths to follow. In November we also saw some wonderful auroras from the top of Mount Kiilopa. Don’t miss the smoked sauna experience

The people there are friendly and helpful, with English you can manage just fine besides. The receptionists thought along where necessary with regard to public transport back to Ivalo Airport (fortunately, because otherwise I would have had quite a challenge, because I had misread a timetable for bus service).
Slept 1 night in Hostel Ahopaa. Fine bed, clean room, tranquility, public shower facilities clean and cared for. Then 2 nights hotel room. Nothing excessive, but everything is there, clean and well. Great bed, lovely shower, and beautiful view!
I only used breakfast buffet and dinner buffet, and as far as I was concerned there was nothing to criticize. Wide choice, variety, and tasty besides.
In conclusion, I think the price/quality ratio is really very good.
As far as I am concerned, this is a very nice and practical place to start and/or end your arctic adventures.

Very nice house. Equipped with all amenities. The view was beautiful. Reindeer walk right past the houses. You can park your car close to your house. The only downside was that the curtains did not black out everything well. This is necessary in the summer.

First, expectations must be set right. This ain't no Ritz Carlton.
On the other hand I have been reading about ratings on the nearby Kakslutten (sp?) log cabins and Igloo place and these are much better. It is about five minutes bus ride away from the igloo place. Yes, we had to sled your bags to your cabin - around 400m away - in the ice and snow, but these are pretty much a self serve kind of place and we didn't mind. The lady at the reception, the guide (Sabrina) an anyone else we met were very friendly, spoke great English, and answered any question or requests we had.
They made Christmas Dinner a pleasant experience and for a peaceful, quiet, but friendly place next to the Wilderness with hiking skiing and walking trails it could not have been better!
Breakfast is decent and lunch and dinner not bad either. Great Salmon soup. Getting to town is a hassle - about a 20 min bus ride and it only comes in at 10 and then comes back at 5. All the shops are in town so not much here at the cabins.
Each cabin has a sauna, clean bathrooms, kitchen, fireplace, and beautiful views of the fell.
There is a snack shop which has small items to purchase including forgotten soap or shampoo.
The activities can be booked at the front reception, and they pick you up here on the day and drive you into town. Not a big deal. There are sleds to borrow and play with for free, skis to rent for a price, and excellent steam and smoke saunas.
Great place. I highly recommend it. Our family loved it. We did reindeer rides, snowmobile rides and husky dog rides. Cloudy outside so didn't get to see much of the aurora.

This misadventure of sorts started with the misleading name of the place itself! Fell Centre is the name of the area, saariselka is a village 20 mins away and kiilopaa is really the name of the place. Highly confusing for a bus driver with no english skills whatsoever. The Hotel rooms were really more hostel like and there was no cleaning up for all the 3 days. While the staff was fairly friendly, i wouldnt call the place any value for money unless perhaps in a log cabin. With no recreation available around unless you are a skiier and with little or no choice for vegetarians, I would not really recommend this to the regular tourist. Nada.

We have just returned from 6 days at the Fell Center, Kiilopaa and had an amazing time. The Center is a bit isolated in that it is not in the town but the advantage of that is that you really get a feel for the landscape. We had a log cabin with a loft bedroom for our teenagers and it was warm and cozy and had everything we needed, including our own sauna which was fantastic!!! The advantage to the location is that you are away from the lights of Saariselka and by walking up the beginning of the Kiilopaa fell we had a fantastic view of the Northern Lights which welcomed us on our first night. We pre-booked trips with Lapland Safaris and thoroughly recommend the 4 hour husky sledding which we all absolutely loved. We also did the 5 hour heart of nature snowmobile tour and the reindeer farm trip - both of which we enjoyed though all the trips are incredibly expensive. The price did include picking us up and dropping us off at the fell center though. The disadvantage to this location is that there is nothing nearby other than the forest - to get to the shops in Saariselka you have to either pay for a taxi or catch the ski bus which comes at 10.30am and drops you back at 4.30pm. This was only a really problem when it came to getting food for tea and we ended up eating at the fell center cafe/restaurant on several nights, which worked out as being expensive. I took some food out with us (dried pasta and stir in sauces etc) and we did get the ski bus into Saariselka on the second day though the food in the supermarket was still pricey and it wasn't easy to tell what it was as a lot of the labelling was only in Finnish! We travelled with Guild Travel and our package included breakfast which was a buffet and had a good choice for all tastes, so we filled up on that as much as possible! The centre also provided a number of free activites which we didn't take advantage of because we had arranged other trips. On our last day we hired skis and tried out cross country skiing through the forest which was beautiful and so peaceful. If you go to Saariselka we really recommend the toboggan run - over 1km in length, it was fantastic - you can pick up free sledges from the bottom of the slope, walk up the side of it and then go up and down as many times as your legs can stand it! Its fair to say that I was a bit nervous about this holiday before we travelled as I expected to be cold and hungry all the time but we had a brilliant time, I didn't get too cold, was never hungry and we had an amazing family holiday full of unforgettable experiences. I really recommend it! I'm happy to answer any questions if anyone's as nervous about it as I was!

Fell Centre Kiiloppa is for me and my husband our favourite winter destination. We stayed here three times in the past three years at the beginning and at the end of our trip around UK NP. Centre offers more types of accommodation from the very basic to the very nice comfortable apartments with own sauna and fireplace. We were always absolutely satisfied and enjoyed the stay. We reccommend it to all.

This is property is exactly what it is supposed to be. Its clean, comfy but simple. The rooms are big and bathrooms have hot water.
But........You dont stay here for the rooms, its all about the sauna, nature walks and the many activities on offer. If you like the great outdoors then the Fell Centre Killopa is perfect.

Oh dear, I’m sorry to miss this question! Yes, as there are scheduled buses that can bring you into saariselka you can also consider the airport bus which I understand should drop by the town before heading to the airport. Just check with the counter.
I could not adapt to the country skis and was doing snowshoeing most of the time. Great way to get around too. :)
There are more places to choose from in the Saariselka area.
