Cute log with lack of maintenance. Uncomfortable small beds, no oven or cooking knife, ruined pans, not enough lightning, filthy bathroom tiles and smelling sauna. Found previous resident's sheets from the upper floor. Nothing else worked at the kitchen when dishwasher was on. Furthermore, got mixed information and poor customer service. Would not recommend.

Response from Mikko Koistinen, Owner at Arctic Log cabin
Responded 5 Jan 2021
Hi there! Thank you for your feedback - we are sorry to hear that your stay was not enjoyable. We would like to make sure, that such case will not happen again and wonder, would it be possible for you help us a bit and specify in which cottage (number) you stayed? Did you contact the service number for these problems (sheets, missing knife, pans) - were these issues fixed? We are really sorry to hear about the bad customer service experience - did you receive it from the travel agency or from the local cottage rental service? We admit that our cottages are a bit old and of basic level - but that does not justify maintenance problems or poor customer service. As cottage owners we are determined to fix these issues as soon as possible. Thank you in advance and terribly sorry for all the inconvenience caused!

This was our second trip to Finnish Lapland, the first time being in Yllas. Out of the two resorts I definitely prefer Saariselka, even though we had a three hour coach transfer to get there. We booked with Inghams both times who were great. We loved staying in this cabin, it had a certain charm and atmosphere that made us feel like we were deep in the Arctic Circle in a very traditional type of accommodation. We travelled as a family of 5, the children being 4, 6 and 8 years old. The only negatives were, the cabin was quite small, didn’t really have a comfortable seating/sofa area, it was very dark and we also missed having a drying closet. None of these points were enough to spoil our fun though. We actually enjoyed the dim lighting most of the time (until we were trying to find something!). To get to the centre of Saariselka it is probably a 20 minute walk from here, which is pleasant enough and didn’t bother us at all. Saariselka is a lovely place, lots of places to eat and drink, fairly close together and an amazing ski resort. The toboggan run here is brilliant, we spent a fair bit of time on this! To top the holiday off we were fortunate enough to see the Northern Lights, right over the cabin. We have booked to return to Saariselka but we are trying different accommodation next time. A little bigger and a little closer to the centre, with a drying closet.
